Angel, continues to thrive. She is so in tune to our routine. So loved her by all who grace her presence. However you cannot approach her face with a quick action. You must do so slow and steady starting under her jaw....
We adore this big girl.

Had an amazing day on the back of my sweet girl. Did not take a long ride....it was during a fitting for tack. This small ride did me a world of good....and I will be on her back every chance I have. I adore her even more. I was able to watch her with other riders and in every instance she was so tuned in. I took her over by the other horses.....she paid no mind and stayed focused on her rider. Wow....am I so blessed❤️

One week here and our Girl weighed in at 1098.....49 lb gain. I have changed nothing except I added Equinety(aminos). She is doing fabulous. I could not have asked for a better temperament. She is so amazing.

As summer has come to a close. Fall ushers in the beauty of letting go. The leaves are still green, except just a few. With this season brings about preparations for the one that follows.
It is said it will be a cold winter......so tasks are underway to be proactive.
Blankets to wash, stalls to prepare, stock tank heaters to put in place.
I haven't felt caught up since before the tractor broke down last summer..... always ongoing.

3 weeks ago I was brush hogging the pastures, and apparently I am allergic to some of the weeds that have such fragrant flowers, I have not been able to go finish that task. Then when the rain comes I have to wait for areas to dry up....it hinders my schedule of tasks that need to be done.
It probably sounds silly, to some, to have to schedule in such a way. However when there are this many mouths to feed, grass to mow, stalls to clean, horses to groom, meals to be made, house to be cleaned, laundry to be washed, errands to be run. It has to be managed and scheduled. Heaven forbid if an unforseen situation upsets the apple cart. As it often times will.
This is not a complaining post (more informational) because truly I love this life.

Chase's has been gone now almost 6 months. His stall remained empty, and closed. This week it will be made ready for a new resident to this farm. Her name is "Angel". Chase and Maggie would have welcomed her. Maggie was the one who always took the new arrival under her wing and showed them the way. Before that fateful night of horrible colic, she was able to pass the reins to Penny who has occupied her stall since. Now tho, Penny and Kiwanis will be Angel's pasture mates. The boys, Manny and P*e will meet her across the fence, as will Cedar, Charlee, Jr, Rosee, and Flicka.
Keep us in your prayers. Keep our country/world in your prayers. As I have often said, God is the only way I can do this. And now as we face such difficult times in our nation and world God will be the only way to get through this too.

One week from today, she will be arriving. So excited to have her here, to occupy the stall of he who started this endeavor. His legacy lives on.
