The first time I saw a Rainbow Eucalyptus tree I thought it had been vandalized with neon paint. I was headed over to Hilo side of the Big Island. These trees are incredible. I can smell the rain on their leaves when I concentrate hard. I miss my Hawai'i.

Way to go K-9 Officer Ronin!!! May you have a speedy recovery!!

Earlier this week, our K-9 unit was requested by the California Highway Patrol to respond to a high-speed pursuit. The suspect vehicle was described as white Ford Mustang.

During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle continued to flee from CHP and PCSO at speeds in excess of 125 MPH, eventually colliding with a tree at the end of Covey Road, in Auburn. Further investigation revealed the vehicle was stolen from the Bay Area. Three suspects ran out of the vehicle and into the surrounding forest after crashing the car. CHP’s AIR23 aircraft was overhead and began following the suspects, relaying information to our deputies on the ground. K-9 Ronin and PCSO deputies began tracking the suspects through the dense forest. The suspects continued further into the wooded area for over an hour, as Ronin continued to track them.

With AIR23 providing updates to our tracking team, deputies were able to catch up to the suspects who continually refused to surrender. Ronin was deployed to bring the suspects into compliance. Ronin was assaulted and beaten by one of the suspects during the apprehension, but he held on until his handler was able to get there and help. The three suspects were subsequently arrested. They are facing several charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest, and assault on a PCSO K-9.

This is one example of how interagency teamwork helps to keep our citizens safe, allowing our deputies to arrest wanted suspects. It is our duty to serve and protect our citizens and community.

I treated myself for losing 15lbs with buying something from and I'm so glad I did. I wanted part of my personal success to be a part of someone else's as well. I never thought about blind people having to shop, have you? I didn't what I was going to get, but then neither does a blind person when they shop and rely on the help and honesty of strangers. The sock packaging has braille on it and so does the shirt! I don't know what it says....but I'm going to find out. I love the t-shirt. It's soft, well made, love the color...but the message on it is the best. Perspective..upside down. you definitely have changed my perspective! Thank you!

Happy Birthday Boo!!! To my best buddy, I am lucky to have you. I picked you in the SPCA cage in Hawaii. You were sooo little and skinny but I took you home, gave you a ton of love and good food and you grew up so beautiful! Thanks for all 9f the comfort you gave me when my mom passed, and for always being so sweet. Black cats rule!
