Welcome to Steviaβs spot π She is right in front of the ocean, buried in a secure place ππΌ It was hard to decide where to lay her to rest when this all happened π My husband and I were staying with friends and still didnβt have a place of our own yet. I thought about taking her to my momβs house in Arizona, but then it felt so far away π’ Our good friend made this suggestion, as it was a local secret spot where other neighbors also buried their loved furry ones πΎ I canβt wait to show you all her view one of these days, when the sun is out and shining π Miss you my Lil Stevia π ππΎππΎ ππΎ

Hey There Precious Peepz π₯ I wanted to do a series of posts regarding grieving π For the past month now I have been mourning the loss of my Lil Stevia πΉ The day she past I had to decide what to do with her little body and how to process this massive change in my life π I held her little body in my hands for a couple of hours before I decided to freeze her remains, as I didnβt yet know where I would bury her ππΌ Once I found a safe spot, we had our memorial for her π

3. A bundle of sage (we buried part with her and burned the rest at her funeral)

Congrats Lil Stevia!!! πππΎπ₯ You made it to 700 friends by your 2nd birthday π° Dear Precious Peepz π₯ Please join me in remembering this very special moment and day...this month 2 years ago, Lil Stevia came to earth π 2 months later the Creator sent her to my house to make not just my world, but the whole IG world, a better place ππΎ Since then her memory lives on and continues to make a difference...every day her Lil Spirit - I believe the same Spirit we all share - gives me strength to go on and shine with the same love her and I shared β€οΈππΎππΎ ππΎ

Dearest Peeps, It is with great sadness that I announce Steviaβs passing πππ She took her last breathes with my husband and I, and peacefully went to sleep in my hands yesterday evening ππΌ She was not in pain, and tried to keep living till the very end π We will all miss her dearly β€οΈ Thank you Lil Stevia for changing our lives for the better π€ Thank you everyone for your uplifting comments, and sincere prayers ππΌ They meant so much to us π€π€π€ I normal like to answer you all back, but as you can imagine things have been very difficult for me and my family this past week caring for Stevia πΉ I plan to post more pictures of her during her final days and moments π₯° I also plan to post memories of her that we never got to share on IG πΎ Her channel will live on with the same mission - to improve the lives of hamsters and their care givers everywhere, thru edutainment...and to promote the powerful, healing bond that these tiny lives bring into our world each day π Pls comment below with your favorite memory of Lil Stevia, or share how she touched your life β€οΈ Thank you all again for sharing a special part of Steviaβs life ππΎππΎ ππΎ

Hey There Precious Peepz π₯ Little Stevia is doing well! She has another diagnosis now tho....cataracts π As you can see in her left eye, it looks slightly β
οΈ Especially compared to her right eye, which still appears to be a shiny red β€οΈ This is a normal part of the aging process for hamsters πΉ I have made adjustments to her habitat for senior living π΅πΌ Iβm excited to share these updates with you all and more! π I know that by sharing our experiences, it takes some of the mystery out of caring for our tiny companions during all stages of life πππΎππΎ ππΎ

Letβs go back about 5 days...we almost lost our lil fur baby πΆπ» Sometimes you just never know what life is gonna throw at you. Thatβs why I strongly suggest that ALL HAMSTER OWNERS perform a weekly health check π Anyone can do so, and from the comfort of their own homes π‘π Iβve been doing weekly health checks with Stevia ever since she came home with me, and after her one year bday I started doing them more frequentlyβπΌIt helps when trying to catch signs of discomfort or illness early πΉ so you can give your hammy the care they need as quickly as possible π I would love to do a video showing you all how to perform such checks, but I havenβt made one yet π€¨ However, if you DM me, Iβll send you some resources that helped me to learn the techniques behind the simple health check, and more ππ€

5. Sheβs escaped her bin around 3 times, her bath tub play pen once, and when she used a ball in the past..she escaped that at least a handful of times lol π

Chews - Are Pine Cones Safe? π² The answer is βYESβ! And your hammy may love to chew on them, so theyβre worth a try π Itβs important to remember though that pine substrate is never safe for usage! We did it!!! After preparing to move in less than a month, selling most of our furniture and packing, driving around 400 miles across state, then unloading our own truck into storage with only 2 hours to spare before they closed, we are here in Apple Valley, SoCal βοΈ
Now we just need to get settled in, and find our permanent apartment for next month ππΌ
Currently we are staying in a bed and breakfast with friends until then β€οΈ @ Apple Valley, California
