Calling all Dog Owners!

Be careful when taking your best friend outside this summer to enjoy the good times with you! Remember, they overheat fast and cannot eliminate heat as quick as we do, becoming deadly within 20 minutes at body temp over 102! Common misunderstood signs are -- excessive drooling and panting, restlessness and anxiousness such as pacing, and abnormal tongue and gum color. So, if you're bringing your best buddy out for the day with you, make sure to bring plenty of water, ice and shade for them.... and soon in June, a shirt that will help prevent heat stroke! p.s. For all you runners and cyclists that are trying to give their pup exercise, its recommended to go early morning or late evening, and please go slow... your pup can even overheat when the sun isn't out so make sure to bring ice to reward and cool them down!

With the summer heat on, it's a good time to remember not only to keep yourself cool and hydrated, but it also goes for your fuzzy friends.
