🎄🐾 ’Twas the Night Before Christmas at Dacus Doodles 🐾🎄
’Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the home,
Not a doodle was stirring… not even to roam.
The stockings were hung by the fireplace with care,
In hopes that Saint Nicholas soon would be there.
The puppies were nestled all snug in their beds,
With visions of squeaky toys dancing in their heads.
And mama curled up with a content little sigh,
While we checked on the pups one more time passing by.
When out on the porch there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the couch to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I hurried with haste,
Past chew toys and leashes all over the place.
The moon on the fur of the new-fallen doods
Gave a sparkle and glow to their curly-haired ‘dos.
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a sleigh full of joy and nine tiny reindeer.
With a jolly old driver so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.
More rapid than zoomies his reindeer they came,
And he whistled and shouted and called them by name:
“Now Dasher! Now Dancer! Now Prancer and Vixen!
On Comet! On Cupid! On Donner! On Blitzen! and Rudolph!
To the top of the porch! To the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!”
He tiptoed right in, not making a sound,
Admiring the doodles all curled on the rug.
He smiled at their noses, their paws tucked in tight,
And whispered, “These pups are doing things right.”
He filled them with blessings, both gentle and true,
For families they’d love and adventures brand new.
Then laying a finger aside of his nose,
Up the chimney he rose - past the wreaths and the bows.
But I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight,
“Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!” 🎄🐾💛
