Jazzie’s Favorite Treat
I started my journey eight years ago when we lost our beloved Sadie to a store bought ham bone. We thought if it’s at our local grocery store it must be completely safe. Within hours we were driving her to the veterinary hospital where she died in my arms. I was surprised to find in my research of the ham bone that several complaints had been filed on that particular bone. I contacted the FDA. I was told that “treats” fall into a different category and there was nothing they could do. They regulate “food”, but not “treats”…
What’s even more shocking is the bone is still being sold at our local grocery store..Even though I met with management and showed them proof that dogs were dying. My boys used to hide them behind the cat food! :0)
Two years later we adopted two Dachshunds.. Tootsie and Jazzy Jazzie loved to chew on everything so I did my homework and found CHICKEN FEET!
Chicken feet are NOT the prettiest dog treat. They don’t come in pretty little cookie shapes, or smell like human food. In fact many think they are gross (including myself)
