Update:
ABR Swenny's puppy personality is really starting to shine. She is incredibly sweet and playful, keeping us on our toes as we try to keep her quiet and stop her from chewing on sticks and everything else a curious puppy finds. She loves playing with the "dog" in the mirror or chasing shadows on the floor, but her favorite activity is cuddling on the couch. "Buttons" is also doing better in the crate but still prefers to sleep with my husband on the floor at night.
Swenny had a check-up with the vet yesterday, which led to another surgery. Some of the bone on either side of her mandible had died and needed to be cleaned out, and parts of her first surgery required repairs. The good news is that Swenny is no longer on a feeding tube, and the vet is optimistic about her making a full recovery.

🎙 Foster Spotlight - Annie III
Hi! My name is Annie III! I am a 2-year-old flashy fawn girl that is an owner surrender due to being found as a stray and my current caretaker is unable to keep me. I was found very malnourished and appeared to be over-bred. Because my current caretaker is unable to keep me, I temporarily live at her work (veterinarian office). I am described as friendly, calm, noisy, affectionate, and nervous. I do not like to be away from humans. If I'm close to them I will comfortably sleep but if left alone, I will bark and cry. I am working on house training and occasionally still have accidents. I seem interested in other dogs but have not had proper exposure to dogs or kids, so a proper introduction would be needed for them. I had exposure in my caretaker’s house with cats in which I tried to get very close to and chase them and if I got too close they would swat and hiss at me and I would squeal. A proper introduction with cats would be encouraged as well. When I get excited, I will nip and jump to try to lick your face. I will need assistance with crate training if that is what is required in my forever home. When the humans must be away and I am left alone, I bark a lot and occasionally have an accident. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences or gates. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, cuddling, attention from people, food, and affection! My current caretaker says I am “a very sweet girl and deserves a second chance with an owner who will train me to be my best”. If you think you could be my forever family and will patiently help me to be an even better girl, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

🎙 Foster Spotlight - King IV
Hi! My name is King! I am a handsome 9 year old fawn boy that is an owner surrender due to noise complaints when I bark in the apartment when the human’s leave. I am described as friendly, active, playful, and affectionate! It is said that I am dog friendly. I haven’t had exposure to kids or cats so a proper introduction would be needed. I am house trained, crate trained, and at night I sleep in my dog bed. When the humans must be away I bark when in my kennel because I have separation anxiety. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. I am fearful of loud noises. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, my squeaky lizard and wishbones that I chew on, and attention. If you think I would make a great addition to your family, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

🎙 Foster Spotlight - Bonded Pair Koala & Kuda
Hi! My name is Koala! I am an 8-year-old handsome flashy fawn boy that is an owner surrender due to a change in my family’s dynamics and we no longer have access to room to run and play. My brother, Kuda, is also available for adoption and we would love to stay together, meaning twice the amount of boxer love for our forever family! I am described as friendly, active, calm, playful, quiet, obedient, and affectionate. I am dog and kid friendly! I currently live with my fur brother and a 6-year-old kid and do well with both. I have never lived with a cat so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly and a proper introduction would be needed. I am house trained, crate trained, and at night I sleep in my crate. When the owners must be away and I am left alone I do okay but am excited to see my human when they get home! When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, my small rubber tire toy, being outside, my brother Kuda, and cuddling.

🎙 Foster Spotlight - Weatherby
Weatherby is an 8 year old goofy fawn boy who always has his tongue out! He likes other dogs but can sometimes not pick up on the right social cues if he's coming on too much. He is not cat friendly. He still has quite a bit of energy for his age. As you can see, he loves belly rubs and squeaky balls! Weatherby loved meeting and greeting everyone at our adoption event this month!

🎙 Foster Spotlight - Quickstep
Quickstep is a handsome 8 year old flashy fawn male. He's currently our longest transition kennel resident so we'd love to find him a foster or forever home! He does better with female dogs and has a moderate energy level. As you can see, he absolutely loved this squeaker ball that he played with at this month's adoption event 💙 He was very well behaved meeting everyone at the event.

🎙 Foster Spotlight - Tink
Tink is about 2 years old. She's a small little white pocket boxer. She's good with other dogs and preliminary tests show a maybe for cats. She has a higher medium energy because she is a younger dog. Currently she appears deaf, but may hear some tones. Deaf dogs learn to look to their owners for hand signals to direct them on what to do and become very good listeners! They also sleep extremely well! Tink did very well meeting people and the chaos of this month's adoption event!

🎙 Foster Spotlight - Nina II
Hi, my name is Nina II! I am a 1-year-old beautiful fawn girl with the softest coat and cutest monkey tail! Not much is known about my history except that I was surrendered to a vet when I needed surgery for a bowel obstruction. I have gotten past all of that and am now a very healthy girl ready to find my forever home. I’m your typical high-energy and clumsy puppy. ! I can play for hours and somehow will miss a stair, fall off the couch, run into a wall, etc every few minutes. I prefer to say I’m “joyful entertainment.” I love all toys but need supervision with them because I do not know they aren’t part of my diet and will eat them. I also dine on sticks, leaves, and even small rocks on occasion. I’m working on my indoor manners, although I know not to jump on people and love couch cuddles! I sleep in my crate at night and am fine in my crate during the workday. I like to vocalize my feelings, so apartment living is not for me. I am house trained and crate trained, but need work on leash training. I have lived with cats in the past but my friendly enthusiasm is a bit much for the resident cat in my foster home. I would pair well with a dog-savvy cat. I love dogs and want to play all the time! I will play with the resident boxer and when I tire him out, I will move on to the little dogs. Sometimes my energy and clumsiness make them anxious, but for the most part we do okay together. My foster mom says I am eager to please and very smart. Once I learn leash walking, I would make a great hiking/running/walking partner and would most likely excel at agility or specialized training. My foster mom says I need a lot of physical and mental stimulating activity to keep me happy and out of trouble! If you are looking for a young, sweet, active girl, look no further! Contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!

🎙 Foster Spotlight - Robo Dog
Hello friends! My name is Robo Dog! I'm an 8-month-old 62 pound handsome boy looking for my forever home! I was previously adopted but due to factors out of my control, I am being returned and on the hunt for my forever family! I am described as friendly, active, smart, noisy, playful, affectionate, nervous, and obedient. I am still young and have puppy tendencies. If I get excited, I will jump and I play rough. I listen well and have completed basic training and knows all of the basic commands. I'm excellent at knowing how to sit and wait.. The trainer I worked with said I have the best aptitude to become an ESA or Service Dog. My current owner says I am an "old soul" that is “super smart and easily trainable” which can help with overcoming my puppy tendencies. My treat motivation and love for good smelly treats also helps with my training! I love to be with humans and really like it if they allow me in their lap. I am said to be dog friendly with those that are my size and not at all aggressive towards me. I currently live with 3 kids (ages 6-12 years) and do fine with the older ones but am a bit too energetic with the younger ones. I do not live with a cat so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly. I am curious about squirrels outside but I do not chase them. I am house trained, crate trained, and leash trained with a harness! At night I sleep in a crate and when the humans must be away and I am left alone, I whine a bit at first but settle after being told to do so. I do not like being barked at, kids waving their hands in my face, and people invading my personal space giving me hugs and kisses. I love a good rope toy, yak cheese, and Kong toys! When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. If you think I would be a good addition to your family and are willing to patiently help me learn to be an even better boy, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I'm waiting to meet you
