Want your business to be the top-listed Pet Store/pet Service?
Animals are amazing. I became a vet to help people, via their pets. Neurology and neurosurgery intrigued me from the start (and continue to do so!) so I pursued an internship at the University of Illinois and then a residency at the University of Florida. After practicing neurology and neurosurgery for about 6 years in the Chicago area, I accepted an invitation to join the faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, eventually becoming promoted to Associate Professor. This path allowed me to help more people learn how to help pets by understanding the science of neurology. But it wasn’t enough.
Many people arrived at the door step simply requesting information. They didn’t want advanced procedures. They wanted confirmation of what their vet was considering. They needed to know they were doing all they could for their pet. The vet wanted to understand more about the disease process in their patient. Regardless, it was the knowledge of a neurologist they were after and not always the newest, most advanced technology we now offer.
I became convinced that there are many animals in need of a neurology consultation, loved by owners and veterinarians, unable to travel to a referral hospital. So, Barnes Veterinary Specialty Services, LLC was formed. My goal is to provide information to veterinarians and owners to make lives better. I want to work alongside primary veterinarians, in their work space, and work together to improve patients with neurologic disease. Helping people, help pets.
