In dog training, weird is cool 😎, building confidence can come from trying things you ordinarily wouldn't.

Example : Rory is training for a big job, and this job may require her to walk on different surface types, go in small spaces, and even get up on surfaces that are higher than ground level.

By showing Rory all sorts of different and WEIRD things like walking under a slippery cart, that also makes noise and slightly shifts when walking builds her confidence when it comes to the real deal.

The goal is Rory will not be surprised by the things we ask because she is so confident in her training she knows how to navigate new things with ease.

When we say working on "environmentals" this is what we mean..... not just walking around for pets and social time.

We take puppies and dogs scared of the crate, have crate anxiety and other crate adversities, and change their minds.

The crate is one of the many amazing tools we can use to help our dogs flourish. The crate shouldn't be a place of discomfort, a place that is scary or even a place for punishment.

Using the crate to create structure and boundaries can be a helpful step towards behaviors you want.

A lot of dogs start like our friend here and end up like Yara, loving their crate and finding it to be a safe and comfortable place to hang!

It takes repetition, patience, and some helpful tactics like free shaping, but it can be done ✅️

This doesn't mean we're not doing an assessment and making a training plan that's best for you and your dog.

We are just making our first impression even more memorable!

At your first visit, not only will our balanced trainers hear your needs, but we are going to leave you with tools to jump right in!

Puppy Lessons $70/hour

The art of doing nothing, passive existence, "place", "stay", long stays, "being good" - no matter what we call it, it's truly a skill that can change the way your dog thinks.

It's a skill that requires the right tools to enforce it, leadership, and a few basic obedience skills.

It's the difference between being able to take your dog anywhere and fighting/struggling the whole time to counterbalance your dog being stimulated by everything.

Learning to just exist in busy and unpredictable environments for extended amounts of time develops confidence, coping skills, focus, and mental fortitude.

We start with a strong sit and down and build on the duration of those and then add all sorts of distraction, noise, and surfaces.
