I am a member of the Pet Professional Guild and the Association of Professional Dog Trainers. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Kennedi and I am a dog trainer that works in the community of Fountain Hills, AZ, and the surrounding areas. I am CPDT-KA Certified, a Fear Free Certified Professional, an AKC CGC Certified Evaluator, a Certified Bite Prevention Educator, and a Be A Tree Presenter

through Doggone Safe. I am very passionate about my work and care deeply for animals, large or small, especially dogs of all shapes, sizes, and breeds. I have four dogs, Beau, Bailie, Jack, and Annie. I also have a wonderful cat named Oliver. I grew up in South Dakota and Alaska, and have been surrounded by a variety of animals, wild and domestic. I have a deep appreciation for living things and believe in respecting and caring for them. I have had a host of pets including dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, turtles, and bucket calves. I have also had a hand in rescuing dogs, cats, baby birds, and raccoons. I received my Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Biology in 2016. I have been a Senior Dog Trainer and Mentor for Petco for 3 years and have a vast amount of experience working with dogs of all sizes and breeds. Looking for a last minute Christmas gift? Why not get your favorite person and dog the gift of a six week group class? Starting Monday, January 13, I will be hosting an AKC CGC Group Class, AKC STAR Puppy Group Class, and an Adult Beginner Class Each class is an hour long and lasts 6 weeks. Each class entry is $160 (that's a little over $26 for each session!) Spots are starting to fill up!

The AKC CGC Class (3 spots left!) is for dogs 1 year and older. This is a 6-week program that is geared toward preparing your dog for the 10 items on the CGC test. Requirements include previous experience in a basic obedience course.

The AKC STAR Puppy Class (4 spots available!) is for puppies up to a year old and teaches you and your puppy foundational skills, such as sit, down, and come. This class is geared toward the AKC STAR Puppy Test and includes practice for all 20 test items. This is a 6-week course. In order to participate puppies must be up-to-date and current on vaccinations.

The Adult Beginner Class (2 spots left!) is is a 6-week program that is geared toward introducing your dog to basic manners such as sit, down, stay, come, and so much more!

JJ is so very demure and so very mindful!

Happy Halloween everyone! The Gang enjoyed a special holiday themed enrichment activity and had dinner inside of a pumpkin! This activity allows the dog to participate in natural behaviors in an appropriate setting! As with any enrichment activity, you should be present to make sure everything is safe!

All animals can benefit greatly from enrichment activities. The chickens are Brookhaven certainly enjoyed "carving" a pumpkin as an enrichment activity!

Jaxy is such a good girl! I love working with her. She has learned so much in our short time together!

I am so very proud of Honey Bear! He has come leaps and bounds since we first met! What a good, good boy!

JJ runs like the wind! I had to slow the video way down so you could see him! Have a great Friday everyone!

If you have to take your dog for a walk, please do it in the early morning (we were out very early for this session), go in the evening once the sun has set, or don't go at all! Your dog will not die from missing a few walks. I have seen people walking there dogs around town in the middle of the day with no foot protection on their dog's feet. The ground is hot enough to "cook" your dog's feet. If you don't have a yard, limit your time outside to just potty breaks. Fun fact: My dogs do not get walks this time of year. I replace the walks with enrichment activities and they are just as content as they would be with a walk, including the puppy (Ollie). On the rare occasion we do walk it is inside of a dog friendly store.

Join me in wishing this good boy a very Happy Birthday! He turns 1 today! Happy Birthday Riley!!!

Riley is doing so well learning to walk on leash in public places! Due to the summer heat we always practice inside. Ace is one of those places!
