▶️ As a trainer I aim to prioritize reducing your dogs fear,anxiety, and stress levels during their stay. Sometimes large kennel environments can prove to be anxiety inducing. We only take one family at a time and set up an entire floor of our home dedicated to creating a peaceful space.

The large fenced in yard of course is a hit as well!

For the social dogs staying a while, we have friendly dogs that always enjoy a new buddy to hang with 🐕

We find staying in a home environment is a more comfortable arraignment, plus, with someone almost always here, that means no extended hours in a kennel!

Our newest trainer is just over 3m old and only very recently have the dogs been allowed in the room when we’re not holding him. 🐕

Why?

Because we take 0 chances. Each dog had to prove to me they knew two things
1️⃣ stay off of babies mats (which look like dog beds/place)
And
2️⃣ ignore baby even when moving and crying and cooing.

➡️ This took work, training, and consistency!

But now look what we can enjoy- a movie day all together, with a stress free mom.

Watermelon has completed the obedience portion of our Ability Dogs program and has extensive socialization. He does well in less busy environments but doesn’t quite have the nerve for very large, noisy crowds which ultimately led to his career change.

Does well with cats,dogs, babies

We’d love to see this boy perform in some sort of working role if possible.

A quick pupdate from Roman, who completed the first phase of our service dog program before being released for having a bit too much energy

He went to an active pet home and has (OBVIOUSLY) been living his best life since.

He came from Henry County Humane Society- Kewanee, IL

We’re just so happy for Roman and his family ♥️🐾

As soon as we’re back from Mat leave we plan on evaluating adolescent/adult shelter dogs to see if there is any potential here in some local shelters. Please watch our page for announcements.

Dogs will be posted available as a started service dog first.

-Started dogs have obedience training and have been out and about in public settings and show great promise to success with service work.

- At that point if someone was interested in us finishing the dog fully, we would consider that a placement and would finish the tasks the handler required.

This allows handlers who are ready when the dog is ready to be able to access their helper without the pain of waitlists. In the event we have several interested we match by personality and lifestyle to the dog- so who matched the dogs needs best!

Our private sessions have a new format. Instead of traveling to others homes, we’ve decided to go exclusively remote!

🐾We find remote sessions can be offered at a better price point
And
🐾Are just as effective as in home sessions!

🐕We use our own demo dogs here to show you everything you need step by step. 🐩

This format also allows you to upload training videos to a shared log for help inbetween sessions!

Big new announcement here with ITDT!

We have a brand new hire! 7/19/24 hire date-

This was about 9 months in the making and he’ll take lots of time to learn the job, but we’re confident he’ll get there eventually.

As we welcome our new little apprentice, please note we are in a bit of a temporary stand by and will need patience to get back to everyone.

Likely we will be reformatting parts of our business to better suit the new addition, so watch out for big announcements as they happen.

This is one that needs to be put to bed once and for all. It pains me to think of all the dogs who suffer unnecessarily because of the prevalence of this myth.

If you are afraid of something and someone hugs you and comforts you with gentle words, does that make you more afraid? Of course not. It helps calm you and makes you feel better.

So, let's keep this in mind as the US heads into the holiday and all the scary booms.

When you see videos of trainers online you probably hear lots of “yes!” ✅“Good!” ✅Or even “click!” ✅ From a clicker.

The use and timing of those is used very purposefully and they are what we call markers.

Markers, aptly named, mark a moment in time the dog did exactly what you wanted, it gives them great clarity on what actually paid them their reward.

Can anyone tell me our NUMBER ONE marker rule? 🤔

Charlie has been in class with us and Cooperative Canine Concepts since he was a teeny tiny puppy and we’ve enjoyed every moment with him. 🐾🥰
