Dog show! Vega and Puppy punch to a field trip cheer on Vega’s 1/2 sister at a dog show. There’s a lot going on at shows! Hundreds of dogs and people, generators, announcements over the loudspeaker, people in wheelchairs, motorized bikes and scooters, people cheering and clapping , the list goes on and on!

Early exposure is not only good for the puppies training. It shows me the resilience of the puppies in my program and how they handle the challenges of living in a chaotic human world. These two girls did amazing! Stay tuned to see who goes on a dog show field trip next week.

Does your human waste time doing “ computer work” if so try these tactics to convince them to close the laptop.

Pose 1: “ The call Sarah McLachlan “ while staying quiet, and not disturbing the laptop, show your human, your best sad puppy eyes.

Pose 2: “ The I am a good girl “ slowly and gently snuggle your human and the laptop at the same time while giving your best: I am a sweet girl and you should do stuff with me face.

Pose 3: “ The any attention is good attention “ This is a last resort pose when you’re human is just not listening. Gently hang onto their ankle while nibbling their toes. Clearly showing your human you are a bad girl and need training so they should close the laptop and do some with you.

Pose 4: “ The fine I’ll just wait “ when nothing else has worked the only thing left for a puppy to do is stretch out for a nap to conserve your energy when your human is finally done and it’s time to do things. Your human will be so impressed with your good behavior they will want to reward you by closing their laptop!

Mama and babies have done great their first 24 hours together. Rox it’s such an attentive, gentle mom. Nine babies is a lot to take care of, so we are monitoring these guys extra carefully! They’re getting weighed twice a day instead of once. A few times a day I separate the 9 into groups of four and five so I can make sure everyone nursing and latching. They are strong and feisty and so far no one is falling behind 🥳
