It's $5 Friday and we didn't post last week. I've been feeling a bit down while trying to drum up donations.

Watching scammers and mass bailers rake in funds hand over fist is extremely frustrating for those of us who show you everything, are transparent, and use the money for the animals needs.
Week after week I feel like all of the small rescues are just one day closer to closing our doors permanently.

I also haven't posted anything publicly because, well it's personal, but I'm having 3 surgeries next week and the stress of how to keep everything moving, animals fed, and how move forward after healing, seems like an insurmountable task at the moment.

Dog adoptions have always offset the lack of funds for the horse side. With our adoptions slow, mostly because I can't go into surgery with lots of dogs to worry about, we just aren't making ends meet. We've personally gone into debt to keep everyone fed/vetted, and we've never done this is the 16 years we've been open. Never!

I don't want to think we are at a crossroad, I don't like to make posts like this, but if I don't tell you, you don't know. I could sugar coat everything and pretend like we aren't just barely treading water but that gets us nowhere. I'm at such a loss. I'm feel bad for even spilling things, and I'm sorry.
If you can help, everything gets to us faster than the donate button here on Facebook BUT those funds do come in as well. We typically use those to cover the electric bill and insurance that is sky high. So on other words, any way you donate goes directly for the animals in one way or another, some just get here faster. And every single penny adds up and helps us tremendously.
Dropping an emoji, comment, like, and share, all help spread the word.
Thank you for letting me get that off my chest, I don't think it makes me feel better, but it does give you some insight into how most places are struggling.
Please remember, we do NOT get any financial support for city/county/state/government agencies. We rely 100% on donations.

This is Caroline, she's a 3y old French Bulldog. She has a "rope nose", she was bred intentionally to have that. She was purchased by a breeder, I'm told for 6k, but she didn't get pregnant and now she's with us. Caroline is right about 25 #, normal Frenchie size, her pictures are deceiving.
She walks well on a leash, rides good in the car, she's good with dogs bigger than her, but hasn't been tested with smaller dogs at this time. That will come later.
A home with French Bulldog experience is preferred. Older children only, and a home who has the ability to separate at feeding times is a must. Because Caroline has been with a breeder, she doesn't want to share her food with other dogs, she's currently fed in her crate, and that solution works for us. If you free feed your other dog(s), she is not a dog that will fit into your home. Caroline is friendly and happy, she's already vetted, and would benefit from some stability in her life.
We do allow out of state adoptions, however all adoptions take place in person in Decatur Indiana, so be prepared to travel if your application is approved.
If you're interested in adopting, please complete the adoption application online at www.lennoxslegacyrescue.org

Fannie (1 year old) is outstanding with other dogs and cats. Older children since little ones move fast and can be scary right now. Exercise pen or fenced yard is required. A home with another dog will be given first preference. She's super sweet and his little tail goes a million miles a minute, but unsure of the world at the moment. She's neve been on a leash but I'm sure she will learn quickly once introduced.
Applications are online at www.lennoxslegacyrescue.org

And now let me introduce you to Barley (left) and Angie (right)

Barley is a female yorkie born 4/2/2019
Angie is a female yorkie born 2/1/2019

These ladies are adoptable either together or separately. If you don't have another dog, then they must be adopted together. They will not do well in a single dog home. If you have another dog, then they can go separately.
Both are about 8-10 #, pretty social and happy go lucky. Barley is a little more reserved than Angie but nothing a few weeks in a family won't cure. They are breeder releases, they've never been on a leash but haven't been mistreated or neglected. A physically fenced yard or a big outdoor pen for potty time is required.
Barley is missing an eye, she looks to have been born without it and we honestly didn't realize immediately since she has gorgeous locks that cover it.
We do allow out of state adoptions, but be prepared to travel as all adoptions take place in Decatur IN.
If you're interested in adopting, please complete the adoption application online at www.lennoxslegacyrescue.org

If you were still on the ledge about what to buy, here's your nudge. You still have time to help Lennoxs Legacy Rescue Inc and get your favorite mop at 50% off. I'm not a fan of moping but saving money makes it a much easier task.

Mazelee feels so much better now that the leg is gone. She is still so skinny. 😞 Hopefully, she will start gaining since she's feeling a bit more mobile and happy.

Although the horses were happy to meet everyone yesterday, they were clearly happy to rejoin their families in the field.

We had an outstanding day here at the rescue. I, unfortunately, didn't take nearly enough pictures. We are still awaiting a final total of funds raised, so fingers crossed it was a good amount. In the meantime, please comment with pictures if you were here and took some.
We'd love for everyone to share.
Special thank you to everyone who stopped out to support us, the volunteers who made this possible, the vendors who joined us, and the donors who donated towards baskets or supplies. None of this would be possible without everyone working together. Thank you

Celebrating the time spent volunteering here at the rescue. 2 years ago today, Cassidy came to help with Baby Chevy. We've known her and her family much longer than that, but she's now been an intricate part of the barn for 2 full years.

Mazelee is out of surgery. She was 6.6 # going in and probably lost 1/4 # from the amputation. She's tiny, still very skinny. We'd guess her closer to 2 based on teeth, and she's absolutely had more than one litter of pups. It was apparent that she's recently weaned babies. Now, it's her time to heal and enjoy life.

A little sneak peek. We will post information soon. Please be patient.
