Place training with Mia and Auger.
Mia and Auger came to me because they are struggling to be out together without having tension, and a possible dog fight breaking out.
We are teaching them tools that create structure and boundaries, such as place training, different exercises and calmness in many different situations, plus much more.
Baby steps are key to bringing these 2 closer together so they can both become positive and confident members of their pack.
This week we worked on staying on place and next week we will take it up a notch and expect one to stay on place while the other is walked around on leash. Stay tuned you won’t want to miss their journey to becoming a calm and confident pack.

Can you Believe this was Willa’s first time learning to walk on a treadmill!?
Do you know why we teach dogs to walk on a treadmill?
Well most people think of it as physical exercise which is correct, but there’s a lot of mental working going on in a dog’s brain while walking on the treadmill.
To us walking on a treadmill is natural it doesn’t take a lot of brain power. For dogs it’s not natural to walk on something that keeps them walking in one spot, so they have to use more brain power to work through any anxiety, fear or excitement they may have. leaving them tired after a short session.
Since it was Willa’s first time she worked on the treadmill for about 20 minutes and was ready for a break after that.

Treadmill training with Sailor
This was sailors first time walking on a treadmill. This skill can be very daunting for dogs at first but it’s a great mental and physical exercise to help slow down your dogs brain.
Even though it’s Saturday we are still out here working! 2 mile run and a 2 mile walk after. Thank you Taylor Clark for coming out with min and mav and spending your morning with us!
Mack’s pack has also created a tik tok account so follow us at MacksPack_dogtraining113 to keep up on all the fun!
A day late but here’s a recap of Tuesday’s social hour!
I absolutely love all these dogs and they make my job so fun! Ruckus has just recently started social hour, this would be his 3rd day and look how far he’s come! In such a short time he’s gained so much confidence and has learned to be a fun/positive member of the pack!
Here’s a quick/ fun little video of our Wednesday social hour group from this week! I figured instead of making a normal post this would be fun!
During these cold winter days it can be super hard to get outside. I had a training session with Gus and Rosie’s owner to show some fun and effective ways to work the dogs inside! The main thing I went over was leash work inside… something as simple as walking on leash inside or teaching new skills while on leash can help drain their energy while you’re stuck inside.
In the video Rosie was learning the command “stand”. This is a fun little trick you can add to your tool box while you and your dogs are bored inside. This skill can help in so many different ways, For example at the groomers sometimes they need your dog to stand so teaching your dog to do this simple task could help better their experience and the groomers job.

I was going through videos from some of my training sessions this summer and I found this beautiful video!
Echo, Bentley and I were out playing at the park when some workers came in their truck and van. The truck was very loud and there were a few people working around the area. Even though echo is skidish of these loud trucks and Bentley is nervous around new people they both did a great job trusting me to handle the situation. We sat and peacefully watched the workers do their job as we worked through a little bit of anxiety before we got back to playing.

Happy new year everyone!!
With all the chaos and commotion during the holidays it’s extremely important to maintain your dog(s) training. Here’s Rosie and her owner putting in an hour of work with me even though it’s been a crazy couple of weeks! Rosie has a lot of go go go to her, so seeing her match her owners speed while walking on leash was amazing.
If your dog(s) is taking you for a walk or your walk simply isn’t fulfilling to both you and your dog(s) give me a call or text at 651-357-7631 so we can get you and your furry companion on the right path!
