Please read the following description of my foster dog Shujaa, and do not be discouraged by the fact that he has limited vision. He can play fetch, he never bumps into anything, he can run down the back stairs, go potty, and run himself back into the house with no issues. His limited vision does not affect him in any way, and nor should it affect anyone from having this wonderful dog!

Shujaa is a stunning Saluki, about a year and a half old, and was rescued from the desert in Qatar. He arrived late last year to the US and needed time to adjust, but he has done beautifully in his foster home and he is the sweetest dog. He is fully housebroken, is crate-trained, neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. He is fostered with 3 cats and Is great with them. He also lives with other dogs of various sizes and generally gets along with all of them, he’s just just needs another young dog, preferab female, that he can romp with. Shujaa has limited vision, he is NOT blind, he never bumps into anything, he behaves like ano other dog. He would love to have a fenced in yard so that he could run and run, something that he loves to do. He is highly food motivated, but not competitive or aggressive to other dogs over food in any way. He loves a chew toy or a bone, and I apologize in advance for the stuffing that he will inevitably rip out of the toy and leave scattered on the floor, all pleased with himself. He’s also great at fetch, he can hear where the toy lands and he brings it back to you. He is really lovely, the actual definition of gentle giant, he is physically large but is so sweet to other creatures, except when he’s being an obnoxious little brother in a giant body, who just wants to keep playing. He’s also one of the most beautiful dogs I’ve ever seen, with his long, feathered silky coat, and he lets me brush him (he ADORES being brushed) and bathe him without issue.
If you’d like to apply for Shujaa, please email or call me and I can send you an application and bring him over to meet you and do a home check for a potential two week trial period, where he would stay with you for those two weeks to see if it’s a good fit. If you feel Shujaa is the right fit for your family, I will come back and sign a contract to finalize the adoption. If you feel he is not the right dog for you, I will come get him, no questions asked. I want to find the right dog for your family and I want to find the right home for Shujaa.
Shujaa can’t wait to meet you!le
