🙏PLEASE SPAY & NEUTER YOUR DOGS🙏

This weekend alone we helped 14 puppies into rescue. 14 defenseless weeks old puppies born through no fault of their own, to irresponsible owners who have not spay/neutered their dogs. We cannot turn on our backs to these puppies because to do so will mean some day soon they will be old enough to breed too. The solution to this overwhelming problem is spay/neuter; there is no other way to win this battle💕🙏💕.

We were contacted yesterday about a litter of puppies in Crystal City, whose mother had died; poisoned. Two of 5 puppies also died, likely from nursing on their mom’s milk before she died. One of the 3 remaining puppies is not doing well, the other 2 puppies appear to be okay. We will be helping to get the puppies vetted tomorrow, but they still need a rescue tag💕🙏💕.

These are some the puppies that were living outside on the property in Carrizo Springs, vacated by the owners. There were 4 chiweenies; the runt died and the owner did not give our volunteer the other. There were 3 pittie mix; the owner did not give our volunteer the other. All are safe and we will get them to the vet tomorrow for exams, vaccinations & fecals💕🙏💕.

🆘🆘INCOMING PUPPIES; ONE HAS DIED🆘🆘

We received a plea for help for two litters of four puppies each. As we tried to figure out a plan for them, we were notified that one of the Chihuahuas, the runt, has passed away. We have made the decision to receive them today, before they all die, and need your help to provide care for them.

We have a placement for the four pittie mix, as well as a rescue that can take them in two weeks after they get their vaccinations. We do not have a foster placement for the Chihuahuas, but we do have a rescue that can take them next Thursday. If you can help foster the Chihuahuas, please reach out and let us know.

They will all need to be seen by a vet and we will need to get milk replacement to feed them as they are all still very young. any donation you can make will be greatly appreciated💕🙏💕.

Sweet Potato came to us the week of Thanksgiving, thus his moniker. He was covered in mange and hardly any hair. Six weeks later he is fully recovered and his coat has come in beautifully. We have secured a rescue placement for him and he will transport to San Antonio early next week💕🙏💕.

Fitch had a spa day today; doesn’t he look handsome; thanks to Vanessa Nicole Hale! He had a meet & greet yesterday and he made a great impression; the humans loved him and the fur girls didn’t mind him at all. These are the Carrizo Spring dogs from the hoarding situation. Only Maple survived from the litter of 5 & the rescue knew it was critical to take Magnolia & Redbud so there would be no more litters birthed. Ginko & Birch have been living outside; tonight they are warm and safe. There are still 4 small adult males and 1 large female we need to find rescue placements for💕🙏💕.

Kyra, Kara, Beans, Bear & Forest are from the city & county shelters in Hondo.

Dan is from the Cotulla shelter; he was found in a dumpster.

Yesterday was not only transport day; the day was filled with pleas for help. Owners who could no longer care for their dogs or were required to give them up.

LUNA: Owner could not keep her in her new rental (ADOPTED).

FINCH aka PATTITAS: Owner was required to give up the dog; situation confidential (Safe with us).

DEUCE: Owner life circumstances have changed and she knows dog needs a home where he can get more time & attention. (Rescue placement secured).

We focus on the best interest of the dogs. We do not judge the owners; life happens💕🙏💕.

UPDATE: The best the vet can tell is that she was dropped on her head or her head was stepped on; unintentionally or her injury would be much worse. Only time will tell if she will be okay or if she will never recover and have no quality of life. She was treated, she has a great appetite & is one fiesty puppy. She has been placed with an expert animal care foster and we will reassess after the weekend how we move forward. We never want to let an animal go, but sometimes it’s the most loving choice we can make.
