Session #3 With Shiloh // 03.11.2022
We started working on his barrier aggression.
As you saw in the previous video, Shiloh would often lunge at whoever/whatever passed his kennel. His thought process with this was not “get away”,, it was “come here!”
Shiloh struggles with this concept everyday. Due to him being take. Away from the litter at such a young age, the mother did not have the opportunity to teach him how to get attention properly,, so Shiloh communicates in how we would describe as “just plain rude.”
In this session I shared my morning biscuit through the fence to kind of help with that mindset.🖤
Session #2 With Shiloh // 03.10.22🐶
Shiloh is on his way to be the best dog he can be! The day started out with me approaching his kennel and him lunging at me like always haha. I bent down to show him I was not a threat and he came over and smelled me. I put my hand up to the fence and he licked me. THATS RIGHT! He licked my hand🤩.
Although I wanted to scream in excitement.. I stayed calm and softly talked to him.
After a few seconds of snapping out of his bad mind set.. he reverted back and showed his pretty teeth at me. Almost like he remembered he was supposed to act big and bad🤔🤣.
I decided to get him out and try to see if we can play ball. Try to do something he enjoys.
I got him out and he could care less about me or the ball. He just wanted to get as far away from me as possible ☹️
Mike mentioned he had a dog that got along with every dog he’s met. So we tried it out. If anyone can get Shiloh to let his guard down.. another dog is who can do it. 🤗
Well.. IT WORKED!! 🤩
Shiloh got super excited. Even though Shiloh wanted to play so bad.. he had no clue how to. From an uneducated persons view, you’d think Shiloh was trying to start a fight and being aggressive. But that wasn’t it at all.. he wanted to play but he doesn’t understand you can get someone’s attention by doing something else other than barking, growling, or lunging. 😕
After a little bit, we put the other dog up because we wanted Shiloh to end the session with a positive outlook on interaction with dogs👍
After the dog went up, I continued to throw the ball for Shiloh and he actually played with me! He never let me touch him and would only come so close to me BUT I call that progress😍
All in all I think it was a good day!🙌
**Please reach out if you think you could give this guy a great home🏠! I still do not know when that day will be BUT we are getting closer and closer to his recovery ❤️🩹 **
First session of many!! 3.7.2022🖤
Goals accomplished:✅
-I was able to sit at the door of his kennel and get him to eat from my hand. He allowed me to pet under his neck, but when I would try to pet somewhere else or fool with his collar he would run to the back of his kennel and growl.
This video was taken before I was able to get him to eat from me or allow me to pet him.
Notice how when he growled and lunged.. it didn’t progress to something uglier.. he backed down because I didn’t react. (Meaning:: he realized he can’t scare me away).
Education:
-Fear aggression is something you can accidentally teach a dog.
••• Example: You and your dog are walking through the park and he starts barking at people. You pull him close and pet on him and say “shhh it’s okay.” You just rewarded that behavior. So now anytime he goes out, he’s going to think “in order to please my human I have to stay in a fearful mindset and bark at people so they will leave us alone.”
Signs of fear⚠️:
-ears down
-tail tucked
-when he looks at you the whites around his eyes show
-shaking
//Preventives:
-When this situation occurs WAIT. IT. OUT. If at all possible tell the individual that he is barking at to wait a second and not move (you want the dog to know that you are in control. He does not have to take the situation into his own hands). When the dog stops barking and makes eye contact with you THEN pet and love on him. THAT is what you want to reward🤙🤩
////Follow his progression to learn more about fear aggression and watch this boy get his mental state turned around and actually get to enjoy being a puppy!!////⚜️

Ikas (Aka Ike) working on his personal protection today💪🏻
Puppy Heel🤍 - Otis
Day 2 of Otis puppy kindergarten🤩
(sorry I’m a day late😬)
-Otis is doing very well, he had trouble with the leash at first. He thought he’d be independent and carry it himself🤣. After a few minutes, he understood that he gets a better reward ignoring the leash rather than chewing/carrying the leash!
❕❕Notice I make him sit and down beside of me in all of my videos. I do this because when we are in public we want our dogs beside of us. If I had him sit and down infront of me, he would also want to do that all the time. I also avoid eye contact. He needs to know that even though I am not looking at him, he is still to listen to my commands.❕❕
• Dogs don’t know what we want them to do until we show them! When we give them a command like “sit,” they look at everything. They listen to command as well as look at body movement, eye movement, and placement. So when you teach your dog something, be sure what you are asking, is EXACTLY what you want or you will teach them the opposite of what you want on accident and not even realize it!💗

Otis- learning how to figure things out
I just wanted to share some of my knowledge with everyone! 🤯🤯
This technique is showing Otis how a reward is earned! 😋
• As you can see, I only have treats in one hand, but in order for him to get those treats he has to touch my empty hand!
• This makes him have to think and helps him learn to open his mind up and figure it out, like a puzzle!! 🤌😊
Otis- 1st day of puppy kindergarten at 8weeks old
Everyone meet Otis!💙
This little man is only 8 weeks old and will be staying with me this week to complete his puppy kindergarten!!
•Today is his first day, so we are just running through some drills to get him use to going through the motions and let him learn different techniques that will earn him treats!! This boy is so motivated I can’t wait to see how far I can take him!
/// Watch as this boy goes from knowing almost nothing to knowing more than some older dogs in just one week!🤩🤩 ///
