It is with unimaginable pain and grief, we wanted to let our Hook & Ladder family know that we helped Hoss cross the rainbow bridge today.
Over the last few months, Hoss began showing signs of pain in his front leg. Chalking it up to an injury sustained while rough housingg, we gave him ample amount of rest but after seeing no improvement, took him to the vet.
X-ray showed severe arthritis and prescribed meds for pain management. We again saw no improvement. We did blood work, a bone tap, and a steroid shot in his elbow at our next appointment...only to see no improvement and worsening symptoms.
Our big boy was losing mobility, refusing to stand, refusing to be himself. So we made the impossible decision to end the suffering and give him angel wings to be the best dog we know he is.
He left this earth being held by his favorite person (my husband, Joey) and myself, knowing he was loved by our entire family, that he was the best dog in the whole world and will be missed more than words can even begin to describe.
