My good friends are raising these kids right! Thank you ! ❤️🐾❤️

These three young animal lovers joined forces to raise money for the animals of the VBSPCA! Marley Grace, Charlotte, and Ryder hosted a lemonade stand and collected a total of $263! We love seeing children make a difference in our community. ❤

Good advice for everyone to read. How is your relationship with YOUR dog?

How Dare You Use A Prong Collar?

I’m often stunned by the audacity of random people trying to control the way in which other dog owners raise their dog. I don’t have children, but I assume it’s the same with raising children, and how outside spectators want to tell you on how to raise your own child. Here’s my advice for you, focus on what matters. This begs the question, what does truly matter?

1. The relationship between you and your dog. This is our main focus point. Forget the noise, forget what your grandma thinks, forget what your neighbor thinks, how is the relationship between you and your dog. It doesn’t matter what tools you’re using, it matters in the way that you use them. If you’re using them to benefit the bond between you and your dog, that’s all that matters.

2. Does the dog‘s value of life improve more decrease with your dog training tools? If I’m training a dog with an elderly owner, or large breed dog with a smaller framed human, and I need the leverage of using a prong collar on the dog in order to enjoy taking them outside, which will also give the dog a greater value of life now because of the increased opportunities the dog gets with improved behavior, that’s all that matters.

3. Your stress matters. using tools helps owners communicate in a softer manner. You read that right, tools help people become softer with their dog. If I’m stressed because I can’t walk my dog I have to turn away from every witch distraction on the planet, or if I’m forced to go to dog classes that put dogs behind cardboard boxes and walls in order for them to take instructions, maybe there is a different path. Maybe there’s other advice out there that truly does work.

At the end of the day, you cannot forget the tool is just a tool. Putting the tool on will not teach your dog anything, you still have to put in hours of training and be extremely consistent with your dog. Just because I advocate for tools doesn’t mean I think you should just throw it on your dog and the problem is solved, it’s just a small piece of the puzzle.

Have you personally had anyone confront you about the way in which you train your dog?

Today is Briggs 4 month birthday! Captain has been a good mentor, although the puppy antics are not his favorite, he is being a great big brother.
Puppies are a lot of work, but put the effort in for the first year and you will have long lasting behaviors you want.

Briggs is almost 16 weeks and boy has he impressed me! I’m happy with his drive and sound confidence! The video is long but it shows the progression with one lesson.
