This is Mouse! He’s an active 4 year old in need of a quieter home. Young kids are not his thing. A playmate would be good him, dog or cat. We are helping his owner find a better living situation for Mouse. Please share!

Please share!! Flurry needs help!! He was adopted from the Working Cat Project two years ago. He had a kidney stone at that time that we had removed and he was put on a kidney cat diet. A year later he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Flurry is a young cat. His owner has spent thousands to make Flurry well. He has been to 3-4 different veterinary clinics. He is currently being vetted at Arlington Pet Hospital. His prognosis is good, but type 1 diabetes can be more difficult to regulate. Finding the right dose of insulin and food combination is the key. Flurry is almost there! His owner needs financial help to finish this process. Not many people would dedicate themselves to an animal in this way. His owner cannot bring herself to give up on Flurry when they have come so far and almost to the finish line. The last three Lyons cats have been placed. A great big thank you to Nebraska’s Animal Loving Advocates for taking Vincent and Nova to find them loving homes and a round of applause for Mr. Bill Hedges for opening up his downtown Lyons building to care for these cats the past three months. Bill actually took the last cat home and named him Sparky. Thank you to everyone who donated time, supplies, food, litter, funding, and homes for the cats. Your generosity and support is noted and greatly appreciated.

Now is the time to get cats spayed and neutered! If you need help with low cost vetting, please contact us! Don’t wait! It’s much cheaper to spay one female than one female and her six kittens!

This is Big Guy. Trapped on the streets of Decatur. Acted feral. With time and patience… Look at him today living his best life INSIDE. All cats want the same thing regardless of tempermeant… food, water, shelter, love and compassion. Yes, that’s correct, even the feral cats want love and compassion. They are just scared. Befriend a cat, get him or her spayed or neutered, and wonderful things will happen! Good cats are not born, they are created through the kindness of humans.

Meet Ginger. She is one of the 30 cats removed from the house in Lyons, Nebraska. One toe on each of her front paws became severely infected. Her nails were worn short causing bacteria to get into the nail bed. Her paws blew up like balloons over night. She was already thin as she was one of the younger cats that the older cats kept away from the limited food supply. This infection didn’t help her condition. She became weak and dehydrated rapidly. $700 later to save her life, she is now beginning to perk up. She won’t eat from a plate so whatever we need to do to accommodate her preferences we will do it if it means she will eat better. We thought we might lose her. Her recovery will take several weeks. UPDATE 🐈 🐈‍⬛
We have removed all of the cats from the house in Lyons. 30 total. Some are friendly and healthier than others. We have been working our way through the group of 30 to get them vetted and make the best decisions for them. 6 more to spay / neuter. 5 have found their forever homes. Two were euthanized for health reasons. 2 are with Nebraska’s Animal Loving Advocates awaiting adoption. 6 are with Beatrice Humane Society also awaiting adoption. We have a few that are ready for new homes and more that will soon be ready. Please contact us if you would like to meet the Lyons cats! Thank you everyone for all the support and assistance! Five cats in need of IMMEDIATE help! Burt County, once again. No shelter. No rescues. The owner is being evicted for non payment. She will be living in her car supposedly after this weekend. No human shelters either in Burt County. This issue, that issue… It does no good to blame the pet owner or ask why. Every place the owner has called in a 100 mile radius has told her the same thing. She is outside their jurisdiction. Two are brothers, 7 years old. The others are three and one. All sweet cats. Lap cats. Beautiful cats. They have been allowed to go outside. Please share.
