15 Year Old 16.2H AQHA Gelding

Lip is a kind guy who best suits an intermediate+ rider. He is big, moves big, and can be a more forward ride depending on the rider. If you don’t have good calf control he can easily be cued into a lope. He walks, trot, lope, picks up both leads automatically, stop, back, moves off leg, open and close gates on him, everything you need a riding horse to do, he does. Most recently he’s been used for playdays and entering the EZ rider at jackpots. He is not a superstar on the patterns but enjoys having a job. Lip warms up well, goes in the gate, he waits for you to tell him to go to the first, etc. He is a gymkhana type horse not a barrel horse. He is used to hauling to lessons weekly and working the pattern a fair amount to work on him and his rider as a team- he is very kind even with repetition. I have pushed cattle on him here but to my knowledge, that’s the extent of his cattle experience. When owner first got Lip he spent some time with Davis Horses where they rode him out in group trail rides a ton and tracked the donkey on him. Since coming home, he has gone on a few trail rides with a buddy and a few alone. He is most confident in a group ride, but doesnt do anything naughty alone. At most he gave a step away and then carried on. Riding out he has gone over irrigation ditches, roads and by barking dogs with no issues. On the ground;he stands tied, good to shoe, bathes, loads/hauls well (most comfortable in a trailer that fits his height), and has no stall vices. He is sound with current radiographs.

10 Year Old 14.3H APHA Mare

Valkyrie is an honest push style. Tons of fun on the pattern and ready to add more run. Allows you to time only her, has been ridden by youth riders, and handles ground well. Will go in the gate a little on the muscle but not dangerous. Hauled and overnighted at races with 0 issues. Eats and drinks on the road and handles box stalls like a champ. She had a later start in life to hauling to consistently, no fault of her own, she’s currently clocking in the 3D with more to give. At home, once she knows you she’s on the quieter/uneventful side. When you’re new to her she is the type to try and see if she can walk over you. Not dangerous but she is not going to be your beginners barrel horse. She thrives with structure. Stands tied, bathes, clips, loads/hauls well, easy keeper, etc. Sound with minimal maintenance and is fit to go enter tonight.

I figured after 5 years in business I should introduce myself and give a little information on my program.

Hi, I am Bayli Gethner and I own Anchor B Performance horses in Casa Grande, Arizona. I consign horses for clients- none of these horses are owned by me. I do require all riding horses to go through an evaluation period and only list the horses that I enjoy. Everything I state in ads has been tested by me. I provide all the videos, stats, maintenance, vet records provided, and disclose all quirks. I try to make it to where there are no surprises.

Starting in 2025 new I’ll be requiring current radiographs for performance horses- there will be approximately 10 views (feet, hocks, and stifles). I’ve selected the views that I feel give the most information. I will not and the veterinarian taking radiographs will not interpret the radiographs taken. But I would be happy to forward them to a vet of your choice. Remember, radiographs only tell part of the story, findings aren’t always clinical, and you will always find something. Pre-purchase exams are always welcomed and encouraged.
There will be a slight increase in my rates and prices to help absorb added costs. I keep my services affordable and my horses reasonably priced so the “little guys” can play too.

My Black Moon

9 Year Old 14.3H APHA Gelding

Moon is one cool dude. He has more run and a bigger stop than most horses out there. Good in the box, scores well, leaves flat, and stays honest. Used at jackpots and college/open rodeos in the breakaway. Patterned on the barrels and clocking in the 3d with a ton of run to add. He is fun to ride at home in and out of the arena. Handy youth suitable but I think will best fit a high school girl+. Some horses you get on and immediately feel they are a winner, and that is Moon. Minimal maintenance happy to disclose to anyone seriously interested. One owner his whole life and would love to keep up with him.

Rocket has been used at high school rodeos, college rodeos, amateur rodeos, and jackpots. He is as honest as the day is long and would be perfect for a junior rodeo kid of a senior. Great on the ground, easy to ride around, and is no stranger to a days work. Ridden out a ton and been in the branding pen. No vices or quirks. Sound with no maintenance and has had one owner his whole life. Have steers and calves to try him on. Ready to go jackpot today.

6 Year Old 15.2H AQHA Gelding

Samson has it all; pedigree, handle, and incentives. He is by Firewater Canyon (Fire Water Flit x Mulberry Canyon Moon) and out of The Original Sin SI84 (First Down Dash x Rarely Sinful SI96, Rare Form). He unfortunately has been back burnered but has had a great start on everything. For a running bred horse, he wants to drag his butt, be soft in your hands, and is a pretty easy going guy at home. He cruises a correct set and has been hauled with to races, ridden in warm up pens, time onlied a little, and even stepped in for a handy 11 year old at the Cervi this year. He ran green but honest. He wakes up away from home and needs to go see more sights. Samson has been ridden out a ton, pushed cattle, and roped the sled. He did have a screw placed in a small OCD as a late 3 year old. He was never lame and procedure was done as a preventative. Properly rehabbed and followed up with prostride. Came back sound and he passed a PPE with it his 5 year old year. If this scares you or the possibility of maintenance scares you, please do not inquire. Recent vet report and radiographs available. Stands tied, loads/hauls well, great for farrier, no stall vices and gets along with everyone. Samson is too nice not to get a fair shot at being a finished and owners schedule isn’t allowing for it. Great home a must.

1D Youth 2D Open

Poppy

14 Year Old 14.3H Grade Mare

If you like a GRITTY, push style horse, meet Poppy. Hustle her, drop your hand and she will take care of the rest. She has mainly been entered by a youth and consistently wins/places in the 1D youth and 2D open the last year. The year prior, Poppy cruised in the 4d, and year before that would trot the pattern with the same youth. Not going to call her a babysitter by any means, but she is a complete push style! I think this mare has consistent open 1D open capability with a more aggressive rider. She warms up on the muscle and likes to be walked in the gate- no rearing and not ignorant about it. The few times an adult has ran her, she went right in on her own. No lasix, drugs, or Hail Marys needed to have a good run. She comes with a couple of quirks- she is watchy on the ground and can be cinchy. Happy to discuss with anyone seriously interested. Would be best for a handy youth(I think 13-14yo+) that wants to win. She has been trail ridden, ridden ba****ck in a halter, she is safe but she’s 100% business. If I had to speak for her, she prefers you to keep her legged up by long trotting or ponying. She does catch both leads, moves off leg, stops, back, etc but she’s always a little on the muscle. Not overly mareish and no stall vices. She gets her hocks injected as needed, apx every 6-8 months depending on use. No, I don’t have radiographs. Body work and ulcer meds here and there as a preventative measure- horses that feel good run good. Vet checks are welcome.

13 Year Old 14.3H AQHA Gelding

Flynn was started by a cutting/cow horse trainer and it shows; catches both leads automatically, moves off legs, rides on a looser rein, ride him two handed into the bridle, great stop, back, two track/counter arc, side passes, etc. If you can put it together he can do it. Cute jog, extended trot, and comfortable lope. Pre 2020 he attended some working cow horse clinics for fun- but has done nothing competitive. He was geared towards western dressage when they realized he wasn’t going to make the level of cow horse wanted. He is BROKE and ATHLETIC in the arena. I would love to see someone use him and his abilities more than has been recently. The last few years he has been mainly used as a husband horse for an advanced beginner. Saddled up inconsistently and followed the leader in front of him on trails. Always the same horse day in and out- that being said he was the “follower” so had gotten used to being with a buddy. Improved since being here but he can get upset when his stall mates leave, or if he’s tied with others and his buddies leave him. I ignore him and let him work through it himself. He gets over it quickly. Under saddle he doesn’t mind riding away from his buddies with a confident rider. He has never offered to buck, bolt, rear, bite, kick or anything malicious- he would just lose focus. I pushed past it with ease.
Because of life changes, prior to coming here, he had been turned out for the majority of the last 6 months. He was easy to catch in a 200 acre pasture, took a few minutes to load. I’ve worked on it for about 30 seconds and he jumps right in alone and backs out. I cannot stress enough that he is kind and broke- his little tendencies are a result of a beginner handler/rider and lack of consistent work. He thrives with structure. Great for the farrier and has been barefoot his whole life. Zero soundness issues, no maintenance, and minimal blemishes. He is substantially built and an easy keeper. Vet checks are always welcome. If you like a fancy horse without the 5 figure budget, Flynn is your guy.

Trip is handy to have around in both ends of the arena. The last couple years he’s been used at junior/open rodeos in Alaska where he’s placing top 10 in barrels, poles and roping. They do not have true team roping or breakaway in Alaskan junior rodeos- so he’s been breakawayed out of the head box on. Been through the barrier and I don’t think it would be hard to swap to the other side and have yourself a breakaway horse. He will let you rope the heelomatic off of him all day but is all business in the box. Nothing silly but will kick his hip out occasionally and will need to reset. Loves running poles and cruises 22-23s. He has not been jackpotted on a ton as a barrel horse, but open 3d type. Handles ground, goes right in the gate, warms up quietly, etc. He does need an aggressive rider to get by sometimes. At home he’s easy to have around. Handy broke, catches both leads, neck reins, stops to your seat, backs, counter arcs, all of it. Trail ride out or ride him ba****ck. No stall vices, middle of the totem pole, stands tied, great for farrier, bathes, hauls well. Never offered to buck, rear, or bolt. He is a big and freer feeling horse- I would call him best suited for 13 year old + in competition setting and safe for anyone comfortable on a horse at home. Shod up front, barefoot behind, and sound with no known maintenance. Vet checks are welcome.

Sharkbait is a flashy c**t with an equally flashy set of papers. Out of a daughter of Lil Spoon who proved herself in the roping pen prior to being a broodmare and by Sun of the Bunny, a proven 1D Barrel horse and finished Head and Heel horse. Sun of the Bunny throws great minded offspring that have been successful in multiple disciplines Sharkbait is color tested Perlino and possibly carries the roan gene. He is easy to catch, halter broke and stands good to be trimmed with someone holding him. Should mature to 15H and easily 1200 #. Would love to see him go to a performance home. Parents pictured.

Judy is the perfect youth/senior/step up horse. She will cruise in the 3-4d with a timid rider of you can hustle her and she’ll make a 2d run. I believe under the right jockey she could make a solid 1-2d horse. She goes in the gate with 0 hesitation and hangs out in a holding pen quietly. She has been hauled alone and with others- she’s the same horse. Eats and drinks on the road, overnights new places, etc. At home she’s just as easy to get along with. Rides around on a loose rein and is handy broke. Slow works the pattern and drills with no problems. She is used to having young kids around and has been ridden by them with supervision. Judy has gone on all sorts of rides out- on roads, camped in the woods, farm fields, desert trails, etc. She is great in a stall, turns out with other horses, stands tied, good to shoe, loves baths, loads/hauls well. In her earlier years she did have 1 out on the track. Sound with no maintenance and pretty blemish free other than a few superficial wire scars. Judy is an uncomplicated and kind horse to have around. She’s been the perfect confidence builder for her owner and she would like to keep up with Judy on her next adventure. Would not be available if it weren’t for life changes.

3 Year Old 16H AQHA Mare

Drama has it all- beauty, brains, and pedigree. She is by a race winning son of Special Effort and out a race winning daughter of First Moonflash. She herself has 9 starts and a little over 3,300lte. Drama retired from the track sound end of July 2024. She was purchased with intentions of starting under stock saddle but owner doesn’t have the time or resources to continue on with her. Since coming off the track she has had ground work done with her, introduced to stock saddle, and been lightly ridden about 10x. She is willing but very green/track broke and needs someone capable of essentially restarting one. Has not offered to do anything silly just doesn’t have any tools yet. She stands tied, good to saddle, stands for farrier, gets along with other horses, and bathes. Overall, she has kind and curious personality. She has current radiographs of her feet- no significant findings other than being a touch thin soled. Depending on your ground/terrain she may or may not need pads. Go on with her now and breed her later.

Big, soggy, and sound. Owner won quite a bit of money heading on him last winter in the #7-10 ropings. He scores well, gets to cattle, handle and faces like one should. He occasionally will back up when you ask him to walk into the box but never offered anything more. He loves to stop and I don’t think it would be hard to get him going in the breakaway. McGee is inherently on the lazy side riding around. He has a solid handle but you 100% have to be ok with pedaling and possibly spanking one on occassion. Good on the ground.Hauls/overnights, stands tied, good to shoe, etc. He can be weary of hoses but has gotten tons better. Dentist aged him at 11-13 years old in March. Happy to send photos of his mouth to anyone interested.

9 Year Old 14.3H Grade Mare

Birdie was started as a 2 year old and thought to have had about 30 rides then turned back out. Owner purcha$ed her in March as a restart project. Since then she has redone all of her ground work- lunging, standing tied, picking up feet, loading, saddling, etc. Birdie has mastered all of her ground work and was started back to riding with 0 issues behavior wise. She did come up sore after about 10 rides and was taken to Desert Mountain Equine for an evaluation and radiographs. Radiographs showed a cyst in her front left navicular. It was recommended to inject (and did 8/4/2024) and get shoes on her if going back to riding. She is currently sound barefoot. She is green under saddle. She stands for you to mount, flexes, moves forward, backs, all that you’d expect for a horse with apx 40 rides. When uncertain her go to is to stop and nothing more. She is not at a point where she’s your kids first horse or your husbands beer horse. She doesn’t have any stall vices and has been turned out with other horses. She is top of the pecking order but doesn’t seek out other horses. Easy keeper and has a respectful in your pocket personality. If someone wanted to bring one along as a pleasure/recreational/trail mount, or a recip mare I think that would be in her best interest for long term comfort. She is a maiden. It is said she was registered and papers were lost but not going to guarantee that. No DNA has been sent off. Owner has grown attached and just wants to see her get into the right home. Happy to forward radiographs to anyone interested.

Chica has done a little of everything- gymkhanas, roping, sorting, trails and even been a part of a lesson program. In the arena she is quiet, light and responsive. Neck rein, moves off leg, good stop, back, counter arc, side passes, etc. She has given lessons to advanced beginners but her responsiveness makes her best suited for an intermediate+ for solo riding. She is patterned on barrels/poles and competed at gymkhanas. She is will slow work the patterns and only goes as fast as her rider asks. No gate issues and warms up quietly. SChica has been sorted off of for fun and it was said she has been heeled off of in the past. She trail rides like a dream and will pony any horse. Absolutely no buck/bolt/rear but will do exactly what you ask of her so she is not a beginners horse. No stall vices and she is not mareish at all. Stands tied, loads/hauls well, stands for farrier, bathes, etc. Sound with no maintenance.

18 Year Old 15.3H Appendix Gelding

Honor is perfect for a handy youth or a weekend warrior that doesn’t want to have to tune on one. He is the been there, done that type that has clocked mainly in the 2-3D in Oklahoma/north Texas. He has helped youth riders win buckles and saddles. Has some 1D runs with previous owners but nothing recent in the 1D. Pretty automatic but runs harder with a more aggressive rider. That being said, he is not going to pony lope through at a race or let you time only him 100x. He warms up quietly and goes in the gate on the muscle with zero problems. Patterened on poles, but has not been entered in the last five years and don’t have entered videos. He has been breakaway on at home- never been through the barrier or entered. He’s nothing fancy with a rope, but it’s quiet in the box and has the bare basics down. He has a good handle- Catches both leads, stops with you sit, moves off legs, etc. Trail rides alone or with a group. Great on the ground- stands tied, loads/hauls well, great for the farrier, gets along with other horses, overnights new places, everything you expect the horses age to do he does. Easy keeper with no stall vices. He has not ran on Lasix or sedatives. Do give him a dose of Gastro guard prior to running. Very minimal maintenance-he gets his hocks injected every 8 to 12 months and adjusted by a chiropractor every six weeks. Would love to see him teach a handy youth!

Jimmy would be an asset to a breeding program or take him and finish him in any event. He by Sun of a Bunny (Zan Parr Bar x Sail on Bunny bred) a proven 1D barrel horse and finished head/heel horse. And out of Slinky’s Moonalena who won money on the track and goes back to Royal Quick Dash, Jet Deck, The Signature, and others. Jimmy has been started on barrels and lopes a solid set. He was hauled to time onlies as a 4 year old and handled himself well. He has also roped the heelomatic and lead steer on both ends. Owners life went a different direction and she was not able to finish him like intended. He is handy broke- catches both leads, rides around one handed, counter arcs, moves off your leg, etc. Jimmy has live covered and settled a handful of mares. It would not be hard to teach him to jump the dummy. He is a stud, he knows he is a stud, but he is 100% manageable. He will talk and get excited in his pen when horses come by. Stalled next to a low key gelding with no problems. He is good to handle and at most will talk while leading- get after him and he shapes up immediately. Stands tied, good for the farrier, good for the vet, loads/hauls well, bathes, etc. Does have a couple of cosmetic scars. Sound with no maintenance. Have a vet coming 8/12 and will be getting a current set of radiographs for new owner at our expense. PPEs welcome.
