A little about me: After an overly eventful autumn, my life is taking a new turn and I'm excited. On January 2nd, 2024, Brio's Premier Mobile Pet Grooming, LLC will be open for business. My work-in-progress website is up at www.BriosGrooming.com and I have a fully-equipped mobile salon. I like doodles, even big ones, and have extensive experience in behavior and husbandry. I am not interested in pushing pets through just to "get it done." I would rather build a relationship with pets and their owners and help set the pets up for a lifetime of comfort with grooming and handling. I'm based near Chardon, so I expect to serve Geauga, Cuyahoga, and Lake Counties or thereabouts. I will do my best to get you the look you're hoping for, even if it's not "correct" (as long as it's not harmful to your pet, of course). And I'm happy to work with you to figure out what works best for you maintenance-wise, whether that's a haircut or specific tools and products to use at home. Abby came in as a stray from the Southside of Youngstown on this past Tuesday. She is microchipped to someone in Cleveland. The phone number has been disconnected.

Abby is an adult shepherd and needs someone with shepherd experience. (Around 6 yrs old) She loves people and is very very vocal.
Abby is dog friendly(possibly selective—she again is quite the talker)
Kids and cats unknown

This pretty girl seems to have been bounced around in her life from home to home. She needs to find an adopter that will help her be the best dog that she can be. That means training, exercise and lost of companionship.

Harley was an owner surrender. Owner surrenders come in many different shapes and forms. Some purchase a puppy that outgrew a holiday, the size the owner wanted was smaller or larger, the puppy didn’t go outside to potty or the owner’s working hours suddenly increased. Many are parts of normal puppy/dog ownership that people deem too much for one reason or another to be able to keep their dogs.

Harley’s situation was not of the norm. Her owner had lost their employment during the pandemic and it was a critical blow due to the expense of caring for Harley’s significant allergy and skin issues. The owner did her best for Harley during this difficult time until she had to come to the tough, selfless, decision of giving him to the rescue to care for her.

The owner was emotional and devastated. We stayed in contact while the NCA went into full medical recovery. Harley was seen by a vet the very next morning. She was started on Apoquel and was given medicated baths every 3 days by Stephanie at K9 Paw Spa.

Harley was immediately put on a raw 2 ingredient diet and supplements. It was clear this pup was going to consume immense amounts of resources and time. She had lost so much fur from her constant scratching and biting and because of that it took months for her to fully recover. Harley required time, patience, and love, with it she began to slowly heal.

Harley started to look like a Newfoundland once again. Her foster mom was sure that this dog would stay with her forever. Who would want a dog that required such expensive medications, raw food and special grooming? The NCA had spent thousands on her care and recovery and had managed to bring Harley back to a normal life.

As luck would have it, a family, able and willing to take on her care, came into the picture. Harley was instantly in love with her new family. Her new mom is a nurse who is able to care for her and adore her. Harley even has enough of her fur back to wear pink bows!

WARNING- THIS IS A PSA RANT - I WILL NOT ARGUE BACK WITH ANYONE

I have been thinking Christmas is coming and that means new puppies are going to be under that tree. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD please research the breed before you get a puppy ...for example DOODLES, as a groomer I constantly hear that owners were not aware of the maintenance of the breed...this breed requires 4-6 week grooming and at home maintenance of brushing at least 2-3 times a week...and yes I know there are different coats that do not need brushed as often...again not trying to argue on this post.. the husky breed is alot more work than others, they are escape artist, they talk alot, they are stubborn, they are not for everyone... Newfoundland and Bernese Mountain puppies grow into a bigger dog (the shock of that without research ) Research the breed and known health issues. Dogs are breed for a purpose....try to find the breed that fits your lifestyle. They shed, they eat furniture, they escape, they all have different personalities! The pounds and rescues are full now, if you looking to add a four legged friend please consider adopting one. And yes I know the breeder vs adopting issues that we can argue ...but please re-read the first line of this post

Puppies/dogs are expensive..the require food, vet visits, training, grooming.... I understand things in life hit you unexpectedly and situations change but dogs are a lifetime commitment. The pounds and rescues are full and trying their best to do what they can to rehome dogs that are left homeless. Dogs take money and so much of your time.
If you do get a puppy get the pup used to the outside world, get it used to noises, touching their feet, playing with their ears, brushing, water, car rides, training. And yes I know some will not deal with it as well as others....Dogs are like humans, some of us don't like our feet touched, some prefer not to be around kids or other dogs. Some get car sick. Their different personalities are what makes them so great !!!

As for the small business's of animal care.....here we go 🤣🤣
I see a lot of post about vets being to much "to cover the cost of their new building" when I see that comment I cringe. Supplies in the pet industry have doubled if not tripled.. small business are doing the best they can to make it fair to everyone....instead of commenting that it's to expensive or judging by their building let's post about the quality of care that the animal will receive, isn't that what is important ! (yes I know that someone may have asked for an inexpensive vet not going to argue)

As for the groomers, yes some are higher priced than others, we all offer different services but I can guarantee that we will do our best to make sure your dog is 100% cared for while they are in with us. We do not want to shave down your matted dog because it is easier, it is for the care of your dog, we do not want to stress your dog out to do their nails, and if your groomer recommends something for you pup it is for a reason and it is for the safety/health of your pet! And again dogs have different personalities so they may not click with the groomer that you pick, doesn't mean the groomer did anything wrong, just not a good fit . And please keep in mind that even if you can do it at home when at the groomers the dog may not allow it...dogs have good and bad days, just like people..please keep that in mind before making a negative comment.

For the comments on Facebook, when someone shares their small business page please refrain from commenting on their pricing, again if it is not in your budget just scroll along. We are all just trying to make a business doing something we love.

***And I will say this one more time, the rescues and pounds are FULL.. they are in need of supplies, they are in need of fosters, they are in need volunteers to walk the pups.*******

‼️KRUSTY NEEDS YOU‼️

This beautiful boy is one of the longest residents at the pound. The pound is out of crates and space with dogs on the way! The pound can't turn away strays. Krusty doesn't deserve this life. He doesn't deserve this uncertainty. He was in a home but was returned at no fault of his own. He cries in his kennel, and he's confused. He misses being in a home and feeling safe. Please give this guy a share and a chance! He's amazing💙.

This happy boy is Evan! He has been with us since the middle of May. He and his lady friend were found wandering alone on the Eastside of Youngstown. She was adopted very quickly. Evan is still waiting.
Since we took him in he has grown up a lot. We are guessing he is right around a year old and is approx 65 lbs. He is a beautiful chocolate brown pit bull type mix.

Evan is dog friendly
Kids and cats unknown

He needs some obedience training. He gets super excited and jumps up to greet you. Due to his size he need to learn some manners. He is like a cute little freight train. Lol

This beautiful and young, 30 #, 7 month old Lab mix Lester was found 9/5 on Wilcox Rd. in Middlefield. Is someone missing him?

Please help us share to help him find his way back home if lost or to a great new home or rescue if abandoned.
