Great start to a Sunday morning! Herding an escaped calf off of 185th in our dress clothes. 😂 He was having fun harassing the Sunday morning commuters. Thanks again to the Scott county sheriffs department for their help getting that little stinker back in!

Fionn did a great job today!
Spring time is always busy at the ranch. Spring time for the goats in addition to the normal deworming and shots… they tend to get “Harry warts”. Something they get from living with the cows. It requires antibiotic in between their toes. Administered by hand. Which can be difficult. But Mr. Fionn is always ready to help out!

Sylvi found something interesting on our walk today! The parents were VERY upset. So after gathering them back up I distracted the dogs and put them back in their nest.

Squirrel season is upon us! First little rescue of the year. A red squirrel. And an exceptionally tiny one at that!

Monty got a couple new barn mates! They are 5 and 6 year old bonded males. So sweet and friendly! Just like Monty. This will be their housing arrangement while they become accustomed to ranch living and I monitor their health. Then they will be free to roam with the best of them!

Poor little miss Pearl has still been limping. Not as bad. And her ankle hasn’t been so hot and swollen. But, uh yeah, I figured out what it was!! Poor little lady! This nail was embedded straight up into her foot! The salt baths I’m sure helped draw it out.
She’s glad it’s gone!

I’ve been told that if you have a black and white dapple billy you’ll only get black and white dapple babies. And if you have a red one, you’ll only get red. Well… little Mrs Fig has proved them wrong. My billy is black and white, fig is solid black and yet she had a red dapple baby! Even his twin sister is solid black.
