Congratulations to our beloved foster dog, Sonny. Adopted! Our first foster to honor our Django who crossed the rainbow bridge. Thank you Jackie Spooner for getting him out of San Bernardino shelter in the nick of time and to for sponsoring his fostering. Thank you, Django, for watching over Sonny. 🐾 Bittersweet to say goodbye, but we will see him soon and be auntie and uncle now.

Please sign this comprehensive petition proposing practical measures to alleviate animal shelter overpopulation, to end the practice of ‘euthanasia’ for space, to reduce the stress of the animals, to hold to account those who abandon and abuse animals, to support animal welfare workers/volunteers with tax credits, and more. If you’re not in California, consider starting a similar, but customized petition in your state or region. Those in charge might actually read it and glean insights from it that lead to positive change.

Our perfect foster doggo, Sonny AKA Sonny-boy. He’s a ray of sunshine. Easiest dog to take care of. Easy-going, adjusts to any schedule, loves to explore the world and to nap, no problem with any dog, great with kids and adults, glad to do nothing next to you, road-trip, take slow sniff walks or brisk walks, takes treats so gently, quiet as a mouse, sleeps like a log, sweet as pie, often carries a toy in his mouth on his walks, doesn’t pull on leash, hasn’t had an accident in the house the entire month we’ve had him, glad to be out at events from farmer’s markets to Fleet week and Liberty Station goings-on, a good companion for browsing at shops and galleries, well-mannered in restaurants, cute and funny at home while shy but easy outside, a great ambassador for Pitties and Pittie mixes. Happy made-up birthday in heaven, Django. We will celebrate you today, and hope you join us for an ocean walk in one of your favorite spots. I love you eternally, infinitely, and with all my might. Keep sending signs, my love bug. I keep you in my heart and my thoughts always. Missing you beyond words. 💙

Meet Sonny, our first foster dog to honor Django. Day one is going well. I gave him a little tour of the city via car en route home. He was rescued from an overcrowded shelter where his number was pretty much up. He made it out of there alive to thrive going forward. Sweet as pie. Around 6 y/o. Mellow fellow. Looking for his own mellow fellow or other person to call his forever family. Good with dogs, kids, & people. is only asking for a donation versus charging an adoption fee.

One week ago, Django crossed the rainbow bridge. We’ll be honoring him in many ways, and if you’re someone who asked how you could honor him, here’s a list of some animal welfare groups and rescue groups for donations in his name or to foster and adopt. Django means ‘I rise.’ Django has risen up. He’ll now be lifting other animals up out of despair and bad situations. 💙🪽🐾
