2024. What a crazy, heartbreaking, exciting, busy, and adventurous year it was! They say what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger and 2024 definitely proved that to be true!
We survived insane traffic, multiple generators, flat tires, flooded floors, and broken cell phones. Everyday I would wake up and think to myself "I wonder what disaster is going to happen today!". I think my husband wanted to block my number in his cell phone since he is the first person I always called to share my little *oopsies" with.

2024 also brought Hurricane Helene. We started our own 501c,Stella's Southern Angels,to help animals of natural disasters and those on the kill list in shelters and kill pens. We made 13 trips to WNC taking and delivering supplies, scanning pets for microchips, helping to organize supply hubs, and also helped to stock a mobile veterinary unit with medical supplies thanks to the generous donations of everyone! We slept in tents, horse trailers, and our truck. We went days without showering, we wore the same clothes over and over, and ate food prepared over campfires. We listened to people's stories of watching everything they worked for their entire lives get washed away,we heard stories of people who helplessly watched as their neighbors, friends,or family get lost in the mudslides and floods, and heard stories of farmers who's livestock were washed away never to be seen again. We saw large animals roaming around with their owners phone numbers painted on them and smelled the horrific smell of death that lingered so strongly in the air. Yet thru it all,we witnessed an incredible sense of hope, strength and determination. We saw strangers become friends, and friends become family. The destruction was overwhelming but the power of hope, strength, helping each other and love overcame it all. It truly was amazing watching everyone come together to help each other and get thru the tremendous loss they experienced.

We groomed more felines this year than in years past and continue to grow by leaps and bounds. The circle of life was so strong in 2024. We lost so many babies this year that we have been grooming for years and years and shed many tears of sorrow with their parents. We welcomed new babies to our grooming family and look forward to watching them grow and helping to keep them beautiful thru their lives while becoming friends with their new families. When I say your babies become my babies,I am not kidding. I love developing friendships with each of you and helping you to keep your babies in great health inside and out!

To say I am grateful for each and everyone of you would be an understatement. There is no way we could be as successful as we are without y'all trusting me with your babies. I will never be able to express how grateful I am for each and every one of you! I never dreamed I would be as busy as we are or gained so many new friendships when I started this business. It truly has been such a blessing!

So as we said goodbye to 2024,we say hello 2025! May 2025 find us all with health and happiness for us and our babies! I look forward to another busy and crazy year and sharing it with you all!!

Happy Friday, y’all! How do you manage your cats from wrangling your Christmas tree? 🐱🥴

They like to rearrange the ornaments and somehow become the tree topper when your back is turned!

Yes, they are stars…b-but.. not like that. 🤣

And no, these precious babies are not the culprits. Just cute groomed angels.

MICHELLE JACKSON

When I was 16, I started working in Vet Clinics. It’s been a long career for me, and I have seen all sides of the cat business. I could attempt to sum it up by saying, it’s about the connection between you and the animal.

When I was in pre-veterinarian school at West Virginia University, I learned all about the anatomy of a feline. There are so many different breeds with interesting traits. There are many different diseases that our amazing pets deal with. There is just so much to the subject of cats, that one can easily devote their life to learning all about it. And I have. I really liked learning about these animals and how their bodies worked, how their minds worked.

After my education, I came back to Charleston, and for 6 years I was a vet-tech at Pet Vet. Then, in 1996 I joined Cats Only, where I focused on grooming just cats for the next 20 years!

Through all of that hands on experience, I learned to take full control over the process and make it an amazing experience for the cat. I also learned how to show and explain in simple terms what was going on, so that no owner was uneasy about grooming their loved one.
