Lambing and Kidding season is here. Triplets, and quads are not the norm but also not uncommon in both sheep and goats. The biggest concern is the teat sharing between the babies. Always watch for consistent weight gain between all the babies. Little ones can go down rapidly so diligent monitoring is necessary to ensure all the babies thrive. Many times removing a baby to bottle feed is necessary. Monitor the ewe/doe for their body condition to ensure they are remaining healthy and fleshy as they are producing milk. As always if any concerns arise we are here to help.

Today, our hearts are heavy with as we say goodbye to Ruby. She passed last night. Despite our hopes that she was on the road to recovery, she took a sudden turn for the worse last night. Dr. Lane texted me last night and said Ruby's body could no longer fight.

It's times like these that make us reflect on the importance of spaying and neutering cats, so kittens like Ruby do not suffer the consequences. By taking this simple step, we can prevent rescuers, fosters, veterinarians, and vet tech from enduring such heartbreaking moments.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to Dr. Lane and the compassionate team at Orchard Hill Veterinary Clinic, as well as Ruby's dedicated foster. They went above and beyond to provide the best care and support for Ruby.

Rest in peace Ruby 🌈

Ruby's latest update: we have great news to share! Thanks to the amazing efforts of Dr. Lane Ruby made it through the weekend. Today, she went into her new foster home, where she continues to receive TLC. Although she still requires syringe feeding, we are relieved to see some improvement in her stool consistency, which gives us hope that she is on the road to recovery.

Once again, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who generously donated. Your contributions mean the world to us, and we truly appreciate your kindness and support. If you would like to continue helping Ruby on her journey, donations are always welcome. You can reach out to Orchard Hill Veterinary Clinic at 864-472-0367 and let them know you would like to contribute to Ruby's care under South Carolina Community Cat Project.

Thank you again for your compassion. Together, we can make a difference in Ruby's life and the lives of many other deserving cats.
