Here's Johnny!! He has had a rough start to life. His previous owners abandoned him and his sister in an apartment when they moved out. The landlord found them left in the apartment in terrible condition for an unknown amount of time. He then turned them loose onto the streets to make them "not his problem" The outreach group The Karen's had been contacted for help but were unable to secure them before they were turned loose. They searched for days and finally found them. They were now safe but in even worse condition and urgently needed medical attention. They were starved, skinny and sickly to the point that they needed blood transfusions. They were treated, slowly fed and nursed back to health. They were transferred to Bark Nation where Johnny's sister June was eventually adopted. After June was adopted Johnny started to not do well in the shelter, he was missing his sister and had too much energy and was too full of life for the situation.
When I contacted the Karen's and asked who they most needed a foster for the quickly said Johnny.
We met Melany the next day at Bark Nation and they had us go in a kennel and wait to meet Johnny. What they put in the kennel with us was the sweetest, most excited, energetic, bouncing 50lbs of sweet pittie that you could ever meet! The only thing that calmed him was belly rubs! They asked what we thought and we nosaid sure. So they packed up his medications, treats, food, a few new toys, a harness and leash and he was out of there! They are a great place / organization with even better people, it just wasn't where he needed to be anymore.

On Johnny's first day out we took him to the Honeybee Market, up and down Riverwalk, and to the Easternarket to Eastern Market Brewing Company.
Everywhere we went he welcomed everyone and everything we encountered so happily and with so much joy. He made us feel like it was the best day of his life!

Jump ahead to today. He is a healthy, happy, energetic boy, he is completely weened off of all of his medications (for sedation while in the shelter). My husband and I could easily become foster failures again with Johnny. (An already full house is the only thing keeping us from doing so)! We know he deserves the best home out there so if you're interested bring your A game. He loves, loves puppy friends, people and car rides. SHIRLEY GOT ADOPTED!!!

So I'm sure people have saw the wonderful news . All it took was that one perfect person to fall in love with her. I'll miss you little girl but did what I was suppose to do. Pull you from shelter, fix ya up and find ya a home. It was a huge group effort from ( The Karen's) helping pull her and taking care of medical bills. Christy at Livingston county shelter for helping place her. Thankful for all the help to do what I love helping pups. 💕💕 Have a great life shirl.

Still waiting!!! I know there are so many dogs out there that need a home. Some are young, some are old, some are cute and some have a great personality... Shirley is all anyone needs, sweet, cuddly, loves people, car rides, walks, cuddling on the couch, walks great on a leash, crate trained. Calm in the house and the cutest smile and happy bounces in the morning that will make anyone have a great day. But unfortunately no one is even wanting to meet her. Update! Shirley is still waiting for a home. She thought the hardest part was going to be making it thru all of her medical needs. Not finding a loving home. Now that she is all healthy, she just wants a home to call her own. Let's help this little girl! She started her journey being thrown out in the streets to being at Genesee county shelter with a dislocated hip and heartworm. Yes she is happy and now healthy but still does not have a home to call her own. Please help me find her a home.

WOW!!! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that helped with our donation drive for The Karen's. The amount of donations we received was incredible and that didn't even include all the people that used Amazon and Chewy and shipped directly to them! Thank you, thank you, thank you! After unloading our vehicles and helping load their van, Melanie and Shakyrra led the way to go load our truck up with straw, houses, and our hot meal made special with love! The people we encountered were very thankful and appreciative, but oh my the sweet fur babies were so excited even ecstatic to see that big red van pull up! These women are some of the most caring people that I have ever had the privilege to spend a day with! It didn't matter if the house or animal wasn't on their list. If they saw someone that looked hungry or needed help they sprung into action! Whether it was knocking on new doors, jumping fences, or just an extra bowl of food for the cats circling our feet! They are honestly real life superheros!
Towards the end of our day we were following that red van when it made a quick turn into an empty lot then back out in the opposite direction almost like they were trying to lose us, then they pulled down a side street and came to a stop. Melanie jumped out and we saw the lost scared sweet pup that she had spotted. He looked tired, hungry and kind of like he had given up. Melanie asked us to go to the other side of the alley to help keep him from running into the busy street nearby, which we did and minutes later he was in my arms, giving us kisses and eating treats. He knew he was safe and this was going to be his last bad day! Into the van he went, nestling down and soon sound asleep before the next stop. While on the way to the next stop these ladies started looking for who or where had room for this sweet boy that night. They don't stop, their work ethic is amazing and their pay is zero! They do it all for the love of the animals! I cannot thank you enough for doing what you guys do! It is absolutely inspiring and thank you so much for letting us be a little part of and help when and where we can❤️❤️❤️

So Shirley had her first ice cream party. Please join in on celebrating Shirley finishing all of her medical needs today. We wrapped up the last heartworm treatment today and she is doing wonderful. Cheers to Shirley and a hard earned clean bill of health. Thank you again The Karen's for helping me help her. On to the next chapter of life!

Shirley is wondering why nobody has wanted to come see her beautiful smile! This little girl has been through so much, living in the streets all alone, to needing a hip surgery and heartworm treatment. Now that she is all fixed up, all she wants is a couch to call her own. If you are looking for a side kick to always have your back Shirley is your girl. All she wants is to snuggle.

Merry Christmas Eve! I will be still taking donations for the pups in need for the next couple weeks. I figure this way it give everyone time to wrap up the holidays. I just can't believe Rosie hasn't found her people and her forever home. She is hoping this might be her lucky month! She is sweet, cuddly, and good with everyone and everything she has encountered. Not a mean bone in her body (not even the ones she has broken)! She is a rescue with The Karen's and will be placed thru Livingston County Animal Shelter.
