💜Things Jingles likes well and love.. He absolutely loves and adores his stuffed animals, he will play a little bit with another dog. Treats definitely loves those, especially watermelon as he eats some fruits and veggies. He loves baths and will lay down in the tub until finished. Jingles does great with nail trims. Last but not least he loves his big giant dog bed and his blanket 💜

Look at this sweet old boy. He has come a long way in 1.5 years. He is still learning to dog. He can be stubborn. He is scared & confused. Jingles is very dedicated to his "person". He will need a firm handler to help him overcome everything he has been thru.

A local shelter has several mom and pups who need rescue.

The second pittie is pregnant and due any day.
The third dog has 4 puppies and pretty protective over them. Once you get her away from the babies she is fine.

These babies are on cold hard floors and need help right away. Please let me know if you can help!

King came to the shelter after his owner became very ill. He is approximately 3 years old and weighs in at 55 #. He is a bit on the timid side and takes some time to warm up to you. He lived alone in his home with his owner and just recently a puppy. He’d do fine with a puppy or other submissive dog. We are unsure if he has ever been around children. He does not like kitties. He loves to go outside. He would spend all day out there if you let him. He is a sweet boy, but he's just a tad unpredictable. Unfortunately he did bite a shelter staff member on the finger through the kennel door. Very well could have been kennel frustration but he’s also reactive in his kennel to some people. The shelter isn't comfortable placing him up for adoption at this time. He will need patience, understanding and some training.

They’ve had him neutered, UTD on vaccines and on monthly prevention.

324019 Vader, neutered Hound mix, 13 yrs. 57 lbs. HW neg. Vader was surrendered by his owner because of his medical needs. Vader has a mass on his abdomen and one above his a**s. Owner also says he has several seizures a month. He hasn't seen a vet for any of his issues per the owner. We haven't seen any seizure activity here but he is in the kennels so we may be missing it if happening. Vader is a bit stand offish when you first meet him. He takes a minute to get comfortable and of course has to sniff everything around. A volunteer said after leaving him out in dog run for a bit, he was eager for attention when she came back and even stood on hind legs for his treat. He can be handled and walks well on leash. Owner said he is not dog friendly at all, and he does have some barrier issues with other dogs while walking through the kennel.

Vader is now hanging out in an office and has become a real favorite of our staff and volunteers. He is social, and affectionate and smart. He is very well behaved in the office. He isn't eating very well but still spunky and happy it seems.

UPDATE 4/20: Vader seems to have had a seizure while walking the other day. Our vet is concerned we will not be able to monitor/manage seizures here and he has been posted looking for rescue for quite some time now. He needs to find a spot in rescue ASAP!

324330 Gino, male Staffordshire Terrier, 2 yrs. 60 lbs. HW neg. Gino has a sad story. He was reported to have been beaten in a motel room. A man staying there overheard, and offered to buy him for $30 just to get him away from the man. The motel staff then called us. When we arrived, Gino was barely responsive and not breathing well. He had blood coming from his mouth and wounds on his legs. He was taken to emergency vet partner where they kept and monitored him for a few days. He is now here at the shelter and seeking rescue. From what I gather from notes sent back by ER vet, Gino will need an FHO, and has some knee issues (might be CCL injury) There are notes about blood clotting times that are unclear. Our vet is back in on Wednesday and will hopefully have more to share about any needs going forward. Gino seems to be doing well here. He is up and moving and walks well on leash. When I went to visit him, he came right up to say hello and get good dog pets on his head. He suffered some real trauma but is such a trooper and with some time and medical help, should be on to a better life soon.
Vet techs here say he is a lap dog, very laid back. Seems to prefer men and would follow the male vet staff around the room.

UPDATE AS OF 4/1: Our vet did thoracic rads and determined Gino has an enlarged heart. He did have an episode during exam where he passed out for 30 seconds.

Murphy is rescue only due to a bite. We don't know the whole story but they say he bit a 21yr old on the lip. He has been great here. We have not had any issues at all. He is 1yr old, neutered, and UTD on vaccines. He is good with other dogs. He is around 32lbs. If you are a rescue group or someone willing to foster for a rescue please reach out. He should be considered urgent.

Journey and Pren time have both been generously sponsored for $75 a piece to be paid to the receiving rescues vet!

Journey, brown female, and Prentice were found as strays eating out of garbage cans. They are very skinny and look to have had several litters in their young lives.

They are both around 40 lbs, Prentice might be Journeys mom, but despite their neglectful pasts, they are so sweet and very grateful for regular meals being delivered to them! They are good with other dogs and love to play!
