Tips for senior pets!
As pets age, it's vital to ensure they continue to keep up both their appetite for healthy food and their energy to prevent health issues like obesity and dental disease.
1. Try new toppers to get your senior pet excited about mealtime again. We love bone broth but many dogs also love tripe (the smellier the better), beef liver, and whole prey fish. For senior cats, whole prey fish like sardines are also a great palatant. Just make sure they're packed in water and not oil.
2. Keep them active. This can be tricky as pets age, especially if they encounter mobility issues. Playtime might look a little different than it did when they were a puppy or a kitten. But it's important to keep them active and engaged.
3. Ensure proper hydration. Feed a fresh, moisture-rich diet to ensure your senior pets stay hydrated. Many senior pets lose interest in their water bowl so you may want to consider adding extra water to their food.

Congratulations to !!! Our friend and dock diving champ, Arya, won FIRST PLACE at the Senior Dock Diving competition at the Westminster dog show this past week, and we couldn't be prouder.
Arya's been fueled by Darwin's meals since 2018, and it's been incredible to see her thrive! We're excited to partner with her on her journey to the 2024 NADD National dock diving competition, and we'll be cheering her on the whole way.

For small dogs and cats, you may not be feeding an entire package of Darwin's a day. Instead, you can keep leftovers in the fridge for up to 48 hours, or refreeze for another day.
Pro tip: You can pre-portion meals using silicone molds so you always have the right amount food at the ready. Just be sure to properly clean your molds and tools after each use.
