It is so important that your dog learns how to do nothing. If your dog can settle and be okay with doing nothing, it will be easier to live together.

Have you ever rewarded nothing?

No? In that case, you should try the Reward Nothing game!

The Reward Nothing game is super simple and super fun. And the best thing? It only takes a few moments.

🐾 Grab 10 treats

🐾 Observe your dog

🐾 Mark and reward when he does nothing

🐾 Do it 10 times and go about your day again

🐶Pro-tip: If you wander around at home and observe your dog chilling happily, ninja-drop a snack down for him to wake up to.

Lucy is having a blast playing in the snow drifts! Over the weekend we got between 10" and 14" of snow, but most of the drifts we had were between 3 1/2' and 7'. Our three other dogs were not a fan of the snow.

I have limited spots left for new clients this month.

If taking your dog in public has become a source of stress, training can help. Are you avoiding streets, dogs, people, etc? Does the thought of taking your dog on a walk or to the park cause stress, frustration, and/or embarrassment? We will work on teaching your dog to walk calmly and on a loose leash in all situations instead of all the growling, barking, and lunging. It’s time to enjoy spending time out of the house with your dog again!

Does this sound familiar?

You're quietly watching TV with the family, but suddenly your dog leaps up and barks loudly at the window. Everyone jumps from the sudden reaction. You tell at your dog to be quiet, you're left anxious, your dog settles down only to leap up again 10 minutes later.

You're not alone. This scenario is common with many of my clients. I know how stressful it can be to live with a dog like this.

Fortunately, there are some techniques we can implement immediately to completely eliminate this behavior. The variety of people and dogs I've worked with have allowed me to build up a fully equipped toolbox inventory to come up with a solution that will work best for your family.

Unfortunately, time will not cure this behavior on its own. In fact, the longer your dog is able to repeat this series of events the more they'll do it. So don't wait, let's come up with a training plan you'll love and one the whole family can get on board with.

Send me a private message if you're interested in how this can work for your family.

"Break" "Command" "Obey" are NOT words I use as a dog trainer.

Instead, I opt for words like "partner", "engage", and "cue'. Why? Because I teach you how to get your dog on your team.

I teach you how to get him/her to voluntarily listen. (If I'm honest, most clients end up with dogs that obsessively listen to their every word.)

As their owner, we possess everything a dog needs. There's no need for a power struggle. We can simply change small things in our daily routines to teach them what we want.

Let me show you how! Jump on a free discovery call with me this week using the link below.

Let's be honest - I want to address who shouldn't work with me...

We probably shouldn't work together if any of the following bother you:

I care as much about the dog's learning experience as I do the results we're working towards. There is no reason learning can't be fun and engaging for both ends of the leash.

I'm not overly professional. I get to know my clients personally and they deserve to know the real me. I'm myself when I'm around clients, we're in it together.

My dogs are NOT perfect. I've taught them what they need to know to live with me and I leave it at that. I love their quirks and don't see a need to fix anything beyond what we're already accomplished. I'm not looking for a robot, I'm looking for a partner.

I get life gets busy, mine is crazy these days too. I communicate honestly about what is and isn't possible and realistic and expect the same out of my clients. This lets us get the best results for your family.

Still reading? Thinking we would work great together?

I'd love to meet you! I have just a couple of spots this month for new clients. Book a free discovery call with me using the link below.

Special offer for new dog owners or dog owners struggling with their pups below!

I help families and young professionals with dogs that are out of control and reactive achieve a beautiful and peaceful partnership.

I can help you if...
- You're struggling to juggle your dog's behavior with all your other responsibilities right now.
- You're tired of putting up with your dog and the stress he's causing your household.
- Your dog's behavior is constantly driving you up a wall.

I've been there. And most of my clients have been there!

Imagine if you could appreciate your dog's personality?

What if he brought joy instead of stress to your home each day?

How would it feel to be on the same team instead of it constantly being you vs your dog?

Together we can figure out what's going on and quickly implement some science-backed techniques that will resolve your dog's unwanted behaviors while embracing his quirks!

We can do this by
1) Identifying the root causes of your dog's behavior
2) Implementing training into your existing daily routine
3) Giving you, your family, and your dog new knowledge and skills to live happily together.

Most trainers will ask you to go to a group class or meet once a week, but with me, you'll receive the utmost attention with a comprehensive and personalized program that aligns with your specific lifestyle and goals.

You will experience relief and feel re-energized after our very first meeting!

My latest client was able to go from frazzled and at the end of her rope to feeling empowered and hopeful with the tools and routines I have given them.

If these are the types of results you are looking for, I have just 3 spots available.

29/09/2020

Almost everything you grew up believing about dog training is wrong.

I know. It's a scary realization.

But that's one of the reasons "training" is perceived as such a struggle. Or as so much work.

You might be thinking its you vs them. You vs your pup.

But it isn't. You're on the same team. Stop trying to create a war within your home.

You BOTH want to love your life together.

The real reason you're not making progress?

The way in which you perceive your dog's behavior is not reality.

So you might be trying to correct the wrong problem to begin with.

You might be making the wrong assumption about why she's acting the way she does.

I tell all my clients the following three tips for success:

1) Your dog isn't trying to take over the world. She's responding the only way she knows how. Let's teach her a different way!

2) Every being on Earth is motivated by something, let's find out what gets your dog jazzed up and excited to learn.

3) Prevention is key. What can we do to prevent this habitual behavior from continuing? Often, I can spot really quick, easy, and convenient ways to immediate change your dog's behavior in our first lesson.

One of the best times is when my clients literally see their dog's behavior in a different way. It's the same behavior - but they understand it and interpret it completely differently.

It is totally magical!

Should we work together?

My programs are designed to create a partnership with your dog through understanding, routines, and having fun!

Send me a PM or visit my website (impacktdogtraining.com) to book a quick call with me to learn more.

Let's lay the struggle down. You vs. her. That isn't how it's supposed to be.

And it most definitely does NOT have to continue that way.

You're on the same team. You both want to enjoy your time together.

She doesn't want to disappoint you. But she doesn't know what else to do.

Your dog is on your team. She's there to have fun with you. She isn't there to give you a hard time.

Put down your arms. Let me show you how fun and easy training can be.

Let me show you how FAST you can see changes in your dog's behavior.

Let me show you how FUN training can be while permanently improving your dog's behavior.

I have a secret to share with you today...

You might not realize it.. but...

Dog trainers' dogs are not perfect.

In fact, they are far from it.

What I do know though, is that I understand my dogs.

I know what behavior is worth fixing. I know what they need to know to be safe dogs.

I know that they are a pleasure to be around because they have "life skills,"

They have basic foundations that enable to me to enjoy their presence in my home.

They listen when it matters.

And best of all - we PLAY. I'm not worried about being the boss. They voluntarily cooperate.

And this enables us to play and be silly together.

The way in which we interacted each day when I first got them set the foundation for their habits - the tendencies and habits I'm okay living with.

There was never a formal training session actually - all training was incorporated into how we went about our day.

It was easy. It becomes second nature for them and me.

One of the best realizations clients experience when working with me is how easy training can be.

I can help you incorporate it into your daily routines so that you barely notice or rarely have to set much time aside to implement it.

Let's eliminate the struggle together - leave a comment below or send a PM to book a FREE call with me to see if your family is a good fit for my program.

You're probably someone that got a dog so that you could enjoy lots of time together.

You want a partnership and a companion with a dog that loves you more than anything. But it's been a struggle.

Having this pup has been a blessing and a curse.

You're worried its something you've done. OR You're worried there isn't anything you can do about it.

Their behavior is not improving, to say the least.

It's frustrating, and so embarrassing that you can't get them under control.

If only there was a way. A technique. A method. Something less confrontational that could...

Dare I say - you wish handling your dog was actually FUN?!

You want your dog to WANT to work with you - instead of against.

You want to be on the same page. You want to communicate instead of struggle.

I'm here to tell you it is possible. In fact, it's more than possible, it's required for you to see the change in your dog that you want to see.

And there's actually science behind making this possible.

That dream you had for your dog when you adopted them? It's still possible.

It's still possible to have a dog you're proud of. It's still possible to work with your dog so that they can become the companion you expected.

I love helping young professionals and families with dogs that are out of control and reactive achieve a beautiful and peaceful partnership by identifying and eliminating outburst scenarios, customizing proven training techniques for your situation, and incorporating behavior training into your every day lifestyle so that you can enjoy life together again and feel proud of your dog’s behavior.

Now, I know you're busy - as am I - so I'm offering a few quick 30 minute calls to examine whether you're a good candidate for my new program. Leave a message below or send a PM to schedule a free discovery call!

My client thought that training was about discipline.

That she had to be stern. That she had to "be the leader."

Now she wasn't completely wrong, but her interpretation wasn't quite right.

Sure - there's discipline involved - that's more about being consistent and providing structure and routines than reprimands.

Sure - you need to be the leader - that's more about being the provider rather than being the boss.

You want a cooperative partnership with your pup.

You don't want to be their harsh or strict boss.

I'm here to help you find that partnership where your dog WANTS to do what you ask.

Where your dog voluntarily listens to your every word.

Where your dog would rather hang out with you rather than dig up the yard or tear up the house.

I could show you how this kind of bond and partnership is possible and make an impact in you and your dog's lives. Let me know in the comments or send me a PM if you want to learn how to create a partnership with your dog!

Does this sound familiar?

You got your pup in hopes of going on lots of family adventures together.

Now, all you can do is wrap the leash around your hands when walking by a neighbor holding on to your pup for dear life.

It's embarrassing. It's heartbreaking. It's not what you had hoped for with your dog.

You're not alone. Many of my clients have been through similar experiences.

They often come to me completely frustrated with their dog. It didn't turn out to be the well-rounded family companion they had expected.

Fortunately, with a little bit of skilled training, things turn around SO fast.

I'm really great at understanding my client's struggles and helping them turn things around. I have been there.

Your dog should be a pleasure to be around, not a pain.
And I'm excited to show you how to make this happen with some easy and fun training methods.

We were stumped!

We looked at all the variables.

We couldn't figure out why this dog's behavior wasn't improving at the pace I had expected.

We went over all the variables once again and - bam - we caught the issue.

The dog's behavior wasn't improving because something had been held back from the conversation.

The dog's owner had failed to mention that the pup attended doggy daycare twice a week and went to the dog park over the weekends.

That info had be left out, but it was critical to the training plan.

Let's face it - our brains don't really have an off switch do they?

Well, neither do our dogs.

They're always processing the environment and responding to it - like us.

Outside experiences like dog parks or daycares can dramatically impact a dog's behavior.

That's why it is so important to work closely with your trainer and share all the details!

I'll work with you to find a solution that fits into your lifestyle.
To create a training plan that will easily and quickly improve your dog's behavior.

For this client, as soon as we took this factor into consideration, we knew exactly what to do to see dramatic improvement in their dog's behavior.

This pup went from frantic to composed in a matter of days when we implemented my updated training plan.

Every dog owner's worst nightmare.

You're getting dinner ready in the kitchen when all of a sudden...

"Ouch!"

You run into the living room to see your guest has been scratched by your exuberant pup.

All kinds of thoughts run through your head.

"Are they okay?"
"What happened?"
"What did they do with my dog?"
"Will they want to leave?"
"Will they want to come back?"
"Gosh, I hope the scratch isn't bad enough to require a doctor's visit..."

You're worried they'll never want to come back over.
You're worried what they'll say to your other friends.

It's gut wrenching. You're worried. You're embarrassed.

This is what might be happening...

You love your dog, there's no doubt about that.
But there are some simple things you can put in place to improve their behavior - today - that you're not aware of yet.

I have a program for you! With my Chaos to Calm Day Training package I help young professionals and families with dogs that are out of control and reactive achieve a beautiful and peaceful partnership by:

1. Immediately identifying and eliminating outburst scenarios.

2. Customizing proven training techniques for your situation.

3. Incorporating behavior training into your every day lifestyle for quick and effective results.

So that you can enjoy life together again and feel proud of your dog’s behavior.

I'm offering 5 discovery calls this week for people that want to see if this is a good option for them and their families. Let's see if this program is what you need - send me a private message or visit our website to schedule.

I was tired of seeing other people struggle with their dogs.
I knew what kind of relationship was possible as a dog owner.
I knew that if they simply knew a few little snippets about dog training, they also could experience what I have with my dog.

There is so much confusion in dog training.
So many voices.
I've read and seen them all.
I've even tried a few things that didn't work out.

All of these trials and tribulations I've been through with my dog?
Well, now they help me help you avoid those mistakes and get to the relationship and partnership you want SO much faster!

There's something to be said for that beautiful experience when owner and dog are totally in-sync.
There's a partnership. An understanding. A communication.
That's totally possible for every dog owner - if only they allowed it.

When I work with clients - not only do I see the light bulb go off in the dog's mind - but often, and perhaps more exciting, is when I see the light bulb go off in the owner's mind.

They say...
If it's been said once, it's been said a thousand times.

It's true - I'm not the original discoverer or inventor of most of my training techniques.
HOWEVER

When you work with me - you get my years of research, reading, seminars, webinars, classes, and courses - all in a consolidated, quick and easy-to-apply way.

My clients are often surprised by how compassionate I am with their struggles.
Keep in mind, I've been in your shoes. And, honestly, NO dog trainer out there has perfect dogs.
I'm NOT here to judge.

Simply to see where you're at and guide you through the best techniques and systems out there to change your dog's behavior quickly and effectively.

What's it like to work with me specifically?

I'm deeply compassionate.
I'm there to find out what techniques will work and adjust them for your lifestyle and goals.
My clients look forward to seeing me because we definitely find ways to have fun along the way.

Working with a trainer isn't simply about changing your dog's behavior. It's also about finding someone you mesh with and enjoy being coached by.

😖 Is your dog making your walks stressful?
😫 Are you avoiding walks with your dog even though you wish you could go out?
😅 Is your dog completely embarrassing you when others walk by with theirs?

Here are 3 things you can do this week to make your walks more enjoyable:

1️⃣ Use a short, non-extendable leash. Often, while flexi leashes give your dog more freedom to explore, they can complicate walks and walking manners.

2️⃣ Turn around! Don't hesitate to change directions or turn around if you see another dog coming your way.

3️⃣ Don't take it personally. Your dog is not barking his head off to annoy or embarrass you. There are many reasons dogs become reactive on leash...

🐶 Maybe they've been attacked and now they're on the offensive.
🐶 Maybe they are frustrated they can't go say hi at-will.
🐶 Maybe they are scared and feel cornered on leash.
🐶 Maybe they've never been taught what to do instead of bark.

💙 Whatever the reason, don't take it personally and please understand you aren't the only one! Soooo many dog owners struggle with this issue. And I help my clients through it often.

Let me know in the comments - Why are you avoiding walks with your dog these days? 👇👇👇

What’s the number one mistake I see dog owners make?
Thinking their dog is just going to "get over it" or "grow out of it."
Practice makes perfect remember?
The longer you let your dog behave in those ways, the harder it will be to change those habits.
It isn't a conscious effort by your dog, of course.
It is simply the longer a habit is allowed to go on, the harder it is to get rid of - just like with people.

Fortunately - training doesn't have to be hard or complicated or cumbersome.
I can show you some fast, easy techniques to quickly make an impact on your dog's behavior.
Many of my clients are SHOCKED when they see how quickly this stuff works.

In just a couple of days, you can be well on your way to an enjoyable, cooperative, partnership with your dog.
There's no sense in waiting and hoping it'll go away - although that is our human tendency!

I have limited availability for new clients this month. I take great care of my clients which is why I have to limit my availability.
I have a specific dog training program precisely designed to help you learn to enjoy spending time out of the house with your dog again!

Curious? Schedule a FREE discovery call with me so we can see if you and your pup are a good fit for this program.

She was out. of. control.
I was totally frustrated and exhausted from the struggle.
I wasn't sure what else to do.
I was on the verge of giving up on Zarya.

Fortunately, I had a local resource that was able to give me a 3rd party perspective and gave me the insights I needed to overcome her wild behavior.

Working with a local dog trainer was totally life changing.
I was able to quickly understand how what I was doing was not helping.
I immediately knew what to do to change her behavior for the better.

🐶 I went from being frustrated to confident and excited to interact with her.
🐶 Excited to take her on walks.
🐶 Hopeful that her behavior was actually fixable.

My struggle with Zarya was so special...
It's one of the reasons I became a dog trainer myself.

Now, I can help clients find relief from their dog's frustrating behaviors to create a bond that they never knew they could have with their dogs.

Seeing others overcome the challenges with their dogs and find joy together is THE best feeling in the world.

Let's talk about what you're going through with your dog and see if a training program makes sense. Visit our website to book a free discovery call with me.

Did you know the Apple Store is dog friendly? I had an appointment at the Apple Store, so I decided to multi-task and take Zarya with me to work on relaxing in a new environment. Training doesn’t have to be flashy or filled with the goal of a new behavior. Today’s training session might not look like we did much, but that was the goal! We worked on ignoring people and just laying down calmly without being ‘on’ or hyper focused on everything around us. We worked on it at home before venturing out, and based off of how quickly she relaxed, it looks like it is time to try a new situation with higher level distractions! @ Apple The Promenade Shops at Briargate

Socialization is far more than just meeting people and dogs. It involves being able to work around dogs, with distractions, and be okay in different environments. There is so much you can start with at home from basic obedience, playlists of a variety of sounds, to getting them used to moving around or on moving objects all before adventuring out of the house. Socialization is not just for puppies, it is useful for all ages! If you and your pup need guidance on where to start, or working through a difficult situation, reach out to us. We can help! When training at home, do you feel like you and your pup are going stir crazy with the same routine and are not as excited to work? Maybe it’s time to venture out of the living room and into the yard or to a local park. I find that a change of scenery can put a new perspective on things and often leads to a more energized training session. Just remember, if you are venturing out to a location for the first time your dog often will need to take a few minutes to sniff and settle. Start with the basics like sit and name recognition games because there will be new distractions to get them focused and work from there. Remember that training should be fun for you and your pup!

Have you ever let your dog take you on a ‘sniff walk’? A sniff walk is when you take your pup out and let them choose the pace, take their time, and sniff! By allowing them to sniff, you allow them to exercise their brain and their body, which leads to a dog who is tired and happy. Dogs of all ages can benefit; from puppies who need to burn some extra energy to seniors who aren’t as active. I also take advantage of sniff walks to do a little self care. I put in earbuds, turn on music or a podcast, and take some deep breaths while enjoying being out with my dog.
