SHOUT-OUT to Crystal Ahlquist and the girls at Big Lots for thinking of The Realm's Feeder Program, and donating several hundred pounds of dog food, which we will be feeding our rats and mice for weeks to come! This is not even close to the first time they have done this, and we would be lost without them!

Yesterday, and as a result of a recent drug raid, we were called to a scene of a condemned home, to aid authorities with a reptile-related rescue, regarding an "Iguana and a snake..."
What, in actuality turned out to be several monitors and several snakes, all of which were in various degrees of health, in a building with no heat. I have been involved in such rescues many times over the years, but possibly the most disturbing thing for me was when I was preparing to leave, and a woman came running up to me with the monitors ..."food"...four packs of THIS: It was supposedly frozen fish, and I quote her, "All they will eat."

It's time guys; we can no longer wait. Please contact me if you live in the Jamestown area, and have children, friends or family who love, like or at least accept reptiles and amphibians. Those of you who have patiently been waiting for a membership, can now do so, and in doing so, schedule an immediate private tour and photo shoot. We still have MUCH to do, and have been working very hard to bring something special and lasting to Jamestown. That's why the first 25 Families who buy memberships as of, well...now, will receive the Deep-Discount, First Family Package. Trust me, it's less than taking them to the movies. The reptiles are here, and have been for several months, with more, and I mean MORE, on the way. There's been limited funding, and we apologize for taking so long to open, but there still a few things we need before I feel comfortable having a Grand Opening. THEY (Bankers/Big Business/Judiciary) want me to START OVER. With a budget (loaned)...NEVER SAW THIS COMING at the last minute no less. I know my vivs could use some plant work, the Alligator enclosure a bigger pond, the giftshop is FAR from ready, but I am READY to OPEN! KIDS WANT TO COME HERE. The Realm is where I go myself to feel good, so I know its appeal/effect.
"We appreciate what you and your 7-year-old son built, but"...
Really? I thought that was the whole point. Sure, proper funding, contractors and my choice of materials skunks anything Conner and I can build from gently-used, donated materials, but wow; someone sure missed the point. Probably me lol! So...now what???
