There have been 2 dogs that have stolen my heart in the last 20 years. The first was Dexter Wonderdogg, an 8 pound Maltese we had for 15 years. He was a classic Mr. Macho Man.
When he crossed over the Rainbow Bridge it took us a few months before we decided we were ready for another dog. We both agreed we didn't want a similar dog that would remind us daily of our loss so we brought home a tiny little black puppy, Sophie, a black Lab. She is now 10 times the size of Dex and is afraid of her own shadow. Two totally different personalities but heart stealers all the same.
It is my love of animals that brought me to specialize in painting their portraits. People have mentioned that I capture the soul of the animal in the way I paint the eyes. I hope so, it is the most important feature.
