Check out Miss Mabel working hard! Mabel has shown to work best with hand signals as she may have hearing impairment. So we are adjusting to make it fun and engaging for her! #ctdogtrainer #countrysidecanine
The other day brandy was working on something outside and I decided to take this video. "Door manners" are an expected behavior at our house, (they're a little closer than I'd like but still...) but I often go to houses where the first thing I see is the owner holding their dog back from running out the door.
Please know you don't have to live like that! Reach out to a trainer for help! Especially during the holidays with family and friends coming and going, it's a great peace of mind knowing your dogs have "door manners!"

💥 Spotlight Sunday! 💥
I have been working with Cookie and her family since they first got her as a puppy 2 or 3 years ago! This family has excelled with Cookie in so many ways, being consistent and always wanting to learn and teach new things.
I cant even take credit for the tricks Cookie has learned the last year or so. Summer, Cookies sister (in this video) has taken on training Cookie and has done amazing! She has joined a club and is constantly learning and expanding her skills!
I am so proud of these two and love getting to work with them and receiving updates on their success! Great job! 💙
Romeo and his momma working on their leash-walking in public! Super-stars! #ctdogtrainer #ilovemydog #balanceddogtraining #happydoglife #dogtraining #dogmomlife
We want to take this time to honor and pay tribute to all of our fallen Warriors, both human and k-9.
I come from a large military family and have lost a very special uncle to ptsd and pain from serving. Please know you're not alone, you are loved, and greatly appreciated for everything you have done for our country.
Thank you for your service!
Happy Memorial Day!

🐾 Happy Monday Everyone!🐾
I hope you all get a chance to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather with your pup!
I made a video about something that is so important to me. Being in rescue and animal control, I hear way to often..." I don't know what happened, he just slipped his collar and took off"
When you think about a collar for your dog, what comes to mind first? Color? Is it cute? What size should I get? .......
I never hear anyone mention....
Is this collar going to keep my dog safe?
Is this collar going to help me control my dog in situations when I may need help and/or more control...
Every client of mine has heard me say - you need a martingale! Especially my puppy and rescue dog parents! 🐾
Please share far and wide! Let's be better, let's keep our dogs safe!
Super High Paw 🐾 to these two working on leash walking!
Romeo was being walked using a body harness and would try and pull his mom anywhere he wanted. Romeo is also reactive on walks to other animals - which we will work on at a later time.
Our main focus during this session is starting out basic leash manners, and getting both of them to communicate clearly with each other through body language and leash pressure. Romeo is being walked with just a simple slip lead!
Can you believe this was all accomplished in a half hour?! Keep an eye out for another video during the same session!
Totally Pawsome!! 🐾💙 Please share and let's make walking our dogs more enjoyable for everyone!

Did you know the first dog I had as a child that really sparked my interests in dog training was a bichon/lhasa mix named Murphy?! He was so eager to learn and please, we had so much fun together!
🐾 Here's Romeo working on his stay and distant recall with his mom. Recall was one of Sandys biggest concerns as Romeo has chased many bunnies in the past, and of course didnt care his mom calling him. They have been hard at work practicing inside, so today we challenged them a bit by going outside! I mean it was so beautiful out how could we not?!
It is so important to work on your skills with your dog in all different environments. You may not think it's a big deal, but to them, there are all sorts of new and different distractions and stimuli. Creating a more challenging and mentally stimulated training session.
The only tools needed for this exercise is a long leash, (super cheap on amazon), a proper fitting collar (martingales preferred), high value treats (we used string cheese) and yourself! Recall is super important for all dogs, big and small!
We are so proud of these two and their progress. Remember consistency and practice are the only way you're going to achieve your goals! And it's not just the dog being trained, but working on yourself also!
Check out Odin working hard with his dad!
Odin is finishing up his 4 week puppy package with us and has proven how smart he is! In the 4 sessions together, we learned everything from sit, down, leave it, stay, recall, proper door manners (wait at door until released outside) to leash manners Nd even paw!
Odin and his family have been a joy to work with and I'm sure another family I get updates from and get to watch Odin grow! 🐾💙
Our big goofy friend ZZ recently came and spent a week with us for a short little restart/bootcamp. ZZ was beginning to challenge his mom causing them to butt heads during daily activities. He would run away from her, play the "catch me if you can" game, and drag her down the road if he saw other people/dogs or got a scent he refused to leave. While ZZ was here we introduced an ecollar, worked on crate training, recall, leash walking, and tightened up his basic obedience.
ZZ went back home and we have since had two private lessons with his mom and we are back on track! I am always a phone call away for my clients whenever they need help 💙🐾
We had our last session with Mister Marty and oh what a great one it was! He has come such a long way and his family now feels confident bringing him out in public knowing he'll be the bestest boy! Training is never over, they still have lots of work and practice to do, but I am so proud of them!
It's never goodbye but see you later as I'm always here to help! 🐾💙
Yesterday we had our second session with Marty, our goal being Leash Manners! This was accomplished in one, 1 hour session! Proper use and fitting of equipment is key, and for Marty it was as simple as a slip lead! Now Marty and his family can begin enjoying more relaxed walks and knowing they have control. Marty is now not only getting daily physical exercise on his walks but mental exercise which results in a more tired, happy pup!
(Ignore the tiktok tag, only way I'm able to make videos look good lately! I do not post them public on tiktok!)
My daughter is my best partner! Here she is working with one of our available dogs. Honey is a 9 month old Anatolian Shepherd who has a ton of energy but loves to work. She obviously loves children and my daughter was up for the challenge! We worked on basic for a few minutes including loose leash walking, sit, down while incorporating the "clicker" for a marker/reward system
Look at them go! 🐾💙 It's so important for our kids to learn how to respect and work around our canine family members, it's a great bonding for them also!
