It’s time to let the dogs out and get the kegs ready! The 8th Annual K-9 Keg Pull is Jan. 25 with races starting at 1pm. Registration fee is $15 per dog. Proceeds benefit Twin City Animal as well as Deadwood Revitalization.

In class we introduce a skill called “Sit on the Dog” basically an automatic settle. It has so many practical applications! Here the baby service poodles, Dash and Violet, are practicing it while I eat in a public setting. Such good babies!

There is a Scentwork trial coming up in Sheridan, Wy. If you are interested in the sport and want to learn more, let me know and I can get you the details so you can watch or even volunteer to help out!

Swarek came with me to paint class at the museum for some training and exposure.

Great socialization for this student’s puppy! Take advantage of local events as socialization opportunities. People watching is great for puppies!

Perfect day for snowy recall practice!

Don’t forget to train in various gear! Some dogs can be very sensitive to a change of equipment or wearing clothes. (This can cause undue stress if the dog needs to wear bandages or protective clothing after a medical procedure) Poppy seems to enjoy training in her jacket and booties, especially in this weather!
