Miss Summit is about halfway through the second portion of her puppy program!

Officially Go Home Day for Mr. Leo.
Such a bittersweet day 🥹 so so happy for him to be reunited with his sister & mom, but so sad to see him go home.

She’s a pretty chill dog & has the most serious rbf. She likes to be the leader of the pack on walks, so our main focus is leash walking! And creating a little bit of a foundation in overall basic obedience.

Why it’s important to know the dogs that you’re “socializing” your dog with.

Dog parks aren’t good places for socialization. Aside from possible sicknesses being picked up at a dog park, you don’t know the temperament of the random dogs who come and go. They can be overly dominant, lack manners, pick fights, etc.

Does that mean your dog shouldn’t get to hang out with other dogs? Not necessarily. But if they aren’t exactly a “social” dog, don’t force interactions on them. That’s where problems start to arise. Instead, practice neutrality and be their advocate when it comes to interactions.

Summit is a young, timid puppy. She’s curious about other dogs but doesn’t actively go out of her way to play with them. She tends to be more on the submissive side. Beau, who has graduated from our b&t about 2 years ago has been really good with “socializing” her. He was a little curious at first, but once he realized she was a little afraid to play with him, he left her alone and went on with his business. He’d let her come up and sniff him, but didn’t push her past her limits. Having known Beau for 2 years now & seeing his interactions with a bunch of other dogs made me feel comfortable with allowing him to be around Summit & helping her learn.

Even though Summit isn’t exactly the playing type right now, it is still just as important to “socialize” (which is done in numerous ways) her and for her to learn to be neutral around other dogs.

A little cutie girl named Summit is here for the first portion of her Puppy Camp!

In addition to all the basics, we’ll be teaching her how to choose calmness on her own since she gets pretty excited when meeting new people, learning proper socialization with other dogs & people, and building up her confidence since she tends to get a little spooked in new situations & sudden movements/sounds.

Introducing my newest board & train Miss Clementine 🍊

She has a special custom board & train where we only have a little bit over a week together. Her parents did such a good job building a foundation with her, that I will just be proofing her obedience & applying some ecollar work.

She’s still young at about 7 months old, so we’ll also be incorporating proper socialization, confidence building & growing off of what she already knows.

UPDATE: She has found the most perfect new dad 🥰

‼️ REHOMING ‼️

Due to personal reasons, Miss Willow is in search of a new home. She is an Akita that is just over a year old & is huge. She is the sweetest dog ever, but still is working through some of her puppy quirks. She can be dog selective, so a single dog home is preferred, but I’m open to a multiple dog household with the right owner only. She can be chill at times, but definitely needs a more active lifestyle.

She just completed a board & train with me a couple of months ago so she has a pretty solid obedience foundation, but will definitely need follow up lessons as she transitions into her new home & has fallen back into old habits. These are all free of charge and the owner will be doing the lessons with me.
