These are such wonderful dogs (Kashi, Hannah, and Lilly). Here, we’re working on Impulse Control. Just because the carrot (one of their favorite treats) is right there in front of you, doesn’t mean you get to sn**ch it up & go to town on it. They held this position for 3 minutes before being released & allowed to enjoy their treat. This was the first time they’d ever waited for a treat.

Luna is a healthy but anxious German Shepherd/Rottweiler who happens to be afraid of her own shadow. On her last walk (weeks ago) she was so overwhelmed that she became paralyzed in fear, and had to be carried home.

After one session, Luna walked calmly while her humans walked hand-in-hand, on a lovely, evening stroll.

Recently, I had the wonderful opportunity to go hands-on with these remarkable dogs, Pete, Eddie, and Beau. They don’t know it yet (so don’t spoil it for them), one of our next goals will come in the form of gentle rehabilitation of physical limitations, as well as playful exercise; we’re going SWIMMING!

Paris had so much energy, no focus, and was so hyper-alert that she was considered “Un-Walkable.” Today, Paris is able to play fetch, follow commands, receive rewards, all while remaining calm. Paris shows consistent improvement with each session. I’m proud of her.

On just her 3rd attempt, and with minimal correction, Paris learned that she is expected to sit when I stop walking. This seemingly insignificant task prepares you and your dog to prevent unwanted behavior in the future, like engaging other dogs, cars, kids, bikes, skateboards, etc.

From the beginning of her training, Paris was unable to listen to or obey simple commands. After working together, she is rewarded for remaining calm. Here, Paris resists the primal urge to sn**ch the meaty treat from my fingers.

Paris is an almost 1-year old Australian Cattle Dog & Husky mix. She is exceptionally alert and can run for miles, par for the course. Her hyper vigilance in the home caused problems among her humans to the point where a routine walk seemed impossible. We worked together for 3 days and THIS good girl is ready for her next challenge in training.
