First of all I want to thank the good Lord above for His many blessings!
I’ve hunted harder in the last month than I’ve ever hunted before and it finally all came together in spectacular fashion!
I’ve been chasing 6 shooter bucks for the past month and have had 8 different encounters with 4 of them, but something always seemed to happen!
I ended up taking a lockon treestand and a decoy and setting up in a known travel corridor leading to one of my main bait stations and made a runandgun setup. Shortly before dark a spike chased a doe past me at about 150 yards and within 5 minutes of last light this big guy came out on the same trail with his nose to the ground. I snort wheezed and he immediately galloped in to my decoy! I turned on the camera and in a matter of seconds he was in bow range and I smoked him!
He scored 136 6/8’s! My biggest buck ever by 15 inches!

Well here is a stud California public land blacktail killed by .wilson.188 on the last day of season. 23 1/2 inches wide. It’s awesome to see a Patterson Outdoors hat made it all the way across the country! Congratulations .wilson.188 and thanks for letting me share this!

I was able to tag my first gobbler of the season a few days ago. We made a move on this bird mid afternoon and were able to get right where he wanted to be. With all that is going on right now there’s no place I’d rather be than out chasing turkeys and getting away from it all. Thank God for these opportunities.

Saturday, I accomplished something I’ve been dreaming of for a while now! I self filmed myself shooting a long beard with a bow! He did it right, and came in to the decoy at 10 yards and I smacked him right in the waddles!

Turkey season has already begun in several states and is coming up quick here in NC. Here’s a look back at some of my completed turkeys from last season. We will be open and accepting birds for the 2020 season so if you’re looking for a turkey mount that will look real then look no further. I’m looking forward to mounting and chasing some birds soon! Youth season opened up today in Kansas and Matthew Newton was able to guide his first successful hunt of the season! All that hard work scouting and getting ready for season paid off. We’re ready for season to open up here in NC!

Well if you’ve been following on our stories you know he was down in Florida chasing Osceola gobblers to complete his grand slam and this morning he was able to accomplish that goal. Today was the last day of duck season and I think it’s safe to say season ended with a bang for us. This morning’s hunt is one that won’t soon be forgotten with Jimmy Williams getting this awesome wood duck x mallard hybrid! It’s going to make a sweet mount. There may be a duck hunting video dropping in the future...🤔

Well if you’ve been following our stories lately the duck that I shared was a hooded merganser. I got this guy together and had to snap a few pictures even though he wasn’t finished. Hoodies may not be a good eating duck, but they sure are a cool looking bird and a fun one to work on! @ North Carolina
