Will My Dog Think I Abandoned Him When I Go on Vacation?

and just like everyone we worry about how he will feel when we go on and how he will react she we get back.
If you are going out of town on vacation it is understandably a little nerve wracking worrying that your dog will think he’s been abandoned.

Dogs are social animals and having their person leave them will certainly have an effect on them. It’s important to remember that dogs pick up on your emotional cues. If you’re worried and acting anxious about going away, they’re going to sense that energy and in return be worried and anxious as well.

Tis the season that we rabbit slaves have it a bit more difficult than dog or cat owners, because there are very few boarding kennels that even offer to take in rabbits. Also, it is more difficult to find someone who would pet sit. Every single person we know already owns a dog or a cat and since Bunny is at the bottom of the food chain, we’d rather keep him away from animals that may try to eat him. So what to do?!?

The best option!!! Is the least stressful solution for your rabbit would be to have a relative or friend take your place for the duration of the travel and follow the routines your bunny is used to while temporarily living in your home.

Rabbits don’t do well with change, specially if they haven’t been exposed to traveling from a young stage of life, constant motion as well as unknown smells and noises can take a toll on the rabbit’s health. Bunny doesn’t mind car rides and enjoys going outside, but for other rabbits opening the screen door already stretches them to the limit. If you do decide to take your rabbit, make sure it’s for the rabbit’s benefit ♥️🥕🐾
