Walking With Walter Dog Training Walking With Walter Dog Training is focused on addressing the root causes of behaviors that aren’t working for you or your dog.

Our training methods result in a trusting, mutually respectful relationship with your dog. Walking with Walter offers dog training for every dog and family along the Colorado Front Range. We specialize in behavior modification with a focus on teaching owners how to communicate with their dogs in a whole new way. Like any relationship, communication is the key to success. Our training starts with a

strong foundation built on the basics. We believed that a well-trained dog listens to its owners and will remain obedient regardless of the circumstances. Our balanced approach yields consistent results.

Jake’s been a certified PSA decoy since 2014 and decoyed national trials around the US and Canada. Jake is a NePoPo® Gold Multiplicator and the senior decoy for the Summit PSA trial in June. Riggs & I have had the opportunity to learn from and work with some outstanding trainers this year. Often times he absorbs new training concepts faster than I do. He is the dog that I’ve been waiting on for many years. While I could have had a working dog years ago I decided to wait until I had the time, space, and knowledge necessary to develop a dual purpose dog. Heck he might even be a triple threat at this rate. I say this as a reminder to take your time, do your research and select a dog that is right for you and your lifestyle. Once the decision is made…train that dog!

This is a misconception, and is the reason we will be discussing when and why it should be used. Proper use of an e-collar is also accompanied by proper e-collar training.

Don’t get me wrong classroom education is important and certainly has its place. However, if you do not get your hands dirty and put in the hours with all sorts of dogs you’re limiting your ability to learn and grow. Having said that, you must also be willing to set your ego aside and be open to other ideas and concepts. Just because it’s not the way you’d do it does not make it wrong. . . . Stay classy…😉

A few new friends from 2024 so far

The two ball method has been proven to be an effective, fun & simple way to teach “out” through play. Once learned you can use this game as a way to build engagement and obedience while having fun.

Pet dog owners want a dog that can heal and be on a loose leash next to him. Healing and loose leash Walking can be one of the easiest things to teach your dog if you’ve got good engagement and you make the position very valuable to them. Healing is an obedience just like sit or down. What makes it more complicated is that it has to happen in motion. Clarity & discipline are keys the ensure the dog understands where they’re supposed to be. That’s why it’s important to teach the each step of the process prior to trying to take it out into the real world and make it happen all at once.
