PMA Dog Walkers
Dog Days NJ…we’ve got that PMA. What is PMA you ask? Simple- it’s a Positive Mental Attitude.
Back in 1937, author Napoleon Hill introduced the idea of Positive Mental Attitude in his book Think and Grow Rich which outlines the importance of positive thinking as a principal to success. Positive Mental Attitude is the philosophy that having an optimistic disposition in every situation in one’s life attracts positive changes and increases achievement. It opposes negativity, defeatism and hopelessness. Optimism and hope are vital to the development of PMA.
Truth be told, we didn’t learn about PMA from Mr. Hill. We learned about it from the punk rock pioneers Bad Brains. In the 1980s punk rock was rooted in nihilism and negativity. Bad Brains showed up and changed punk rock, not only with their revolutionary sound but also with their Positive Mental Attitude. These days the PMA torch is carried by some amazing people doing incredible things- John Joseph the Plant Powered Iron Man, Jesse Malin the Punk Rock Poet and Toby Morse who runs One Life One Choice, just to name a few.
At Dog Days NJ, we’ve got that PMA. We get to spend our days with animals in the fresh air exercising so why wouldn’t our attitudes be positive?!? Sure there are tough days, just like in any walk of life. Sometimes Mother Nature dumps 8 inches of snow on us and that’s no fun. But what is fun is seeing how much the dogs love it and running around and playing with them in the snow. That’s our PMA. Dogs still need their walks in the inclement weather and we’ll be there with smiles on our faces. We’re like the mailman sans the funny pants- through rain, sleet and snow…you still need your dog walked or your cat fed and we’ve got your back! Why? Because we love what we do and we’ve got that PMA and we’re putting our own spin on it- we’ve got a Pawsitive Mental Attitude.
