3 years now at the shelter. She’s 8 going on 9 how much longer can she wait.
She needs to be the only pet in a home outside NYS. Kids 6+ due to her size. Transport is available.

So a few weeks back I saw a comment on a share of a post here that was a little upsetting that I’d like to correct.
If you’re a follower of this page you know Simba MUST be an only dog. The comment was that “she loooses her mind if she sees another dog”. And this opinion is very untrue. We try so hard to find a home for these long time residents and that kind of comment can be very damaging to our efforts especially knowing it’s false.
Simba is now 8-9 years old and has lived in a shelter for 3+ years. Which means every day for more than 1100 days she’s been surrounded by dogs. Does this make her dog friendly of course not but that statement of loosing her mind is not accurate especially coming from someone who has never personally seen or met her.
She is an amazing dog, very loving with all people, smart, and would make a great companion in the right home. It’s heartbreaking to see her enter her senior years in a shelter and already with us for so long.
Please help us find her that perfect family. The home must be outside NYS and transport is available.

My shelter friends love me very much, but it’s time for me to live in a house with my beloved family ❤️
-Simba is a beautiful Rhodesian Ridgeback weighing in at 100+ pounds.
- She is located on Long Island New York but due to a court decision Simba needs to be adopted in a different State.
- She has been declared a dangerous dog in court due to the irresponsibility of the owner that led to her injuring dogs walking past her house
- Simba needs a new home outside of New York without any pets
- She is an amazing girl with a great disposition. She is a cuddle bug, she loves to play with her toys and she can run like the wind in our big yard.
- Simba absolutely loves people; big , small, younger and older 💕💕
- She will need a secure fenced yard where she doesn't have view of other dogs walking past her yard. She will need self closing locked yard gates that will remain secure.
-Simba has great manners, skills, and she even knows some tricks
- Simba will make a wonderful companion, in the RIGHT home.
We have all become very attached to this incredible girl, and she deserves someone else to share in the love fest that we have for her!!!
