We had a great morning at Quail Creek Hunting Preserve. . It's become a yearly tradition to spend a morning at Gary's during the holidays. It's a great quick getaway with the kids, especially with their busy schedules. Chukars were fast and plentiful. We had some excellent pictures of the girls on birds this morning. When talking about good dogs the females are often overlooked. Everyone always asks about the sire and ignores the dam. As an old timer once told me"Never forgot about the female, she is a major part of the equation too". Happy holidays to everyone and stay safe!

Erin's Southern Comfort x Harris' Rebel Kate. Double Erin/Rebel cross. 10 weeks old on her first bird. She was last pick of the litter but I think I might like her.

Another great weekend with friends and family. This time in Western Kansas. Even though bird numbers were better than we expected nothing tops good dogs and great people.

5 month old Kip owned by Stan Foster of Maben, Mississippi. Kip is sired by Blackhawks Elhew Doc and Erin's Little Macey. Kip is a Rockacre Blackhawk and a Erin's Redrum cross. Outstanding young dog!!

Getting excited about the great bird reports we have been getting. Looking forward to hunting Ace (son of Attitude) Chief (son of Simmons Black dog and Jack (son of Guard Rail Hawk). I consider these three our A team. We start our season in ND in early October, SD late October, Iowa early November, Nebraska in November and then back to Kansas. I would like to thank family and friends for us all hunting together but most of all I want to thank the Good Lord for giving us this country and our health for another season. Hope you all have a great season!!!!

We are excited to announce the mating of two outstanding individuals with outstanding qualities and pedigrees. Erin's Perfect Storm is making a name for himself. As a derby he was the winner of the derby stakes at the prestigious Continental Championship. Many consider the Continental to be one of the top field trials in the country. Amy has proven herself to be a great wild bird dog and one of our top producers. Her pups are loaded with nose, style and intensity on their game. Take close look at how the pedigrees line up. Good dogs are no accident and these should be outstanding. Thanks

We would like to thank Aaron Fuerguson for puchasing a pup out of Simmons Black Dog (son of Blackhawk) and Harris Rebel Pearl (daughter of Erin's Grey Justice). Black and Pearl both are outstanding wild bird dogs with super noses. We are always excited when a professional trainer like Aaron gets one of our pups and comments how good they are. Thanks

The youngster slipped in and got the find and Pearl with the back. Around 110 days to opening day here in Kansas. Pearl and Bell are Erin's/Rebel cross.

We are please to announce the successful breeding of Ace and Jill. Ace is a son of H***y Tonk Attitude and a daughter of Addition's Go Boy. We was fortunate enough to get Jerry Simmons to train him for us and he said Ace is one of the best. Ace has one of the best noses ever and is a bird finding machine. He has done great wild bird hunting and has produced very nice pups. Jill is a daughter of Guard Rail Spirit and a daughter of Blackhawk. Spirit's daughters are known to be super bird dogs and also great producers. We have hopes that these pups are some of the best we have ever raised for good old fashion wild bird dogs. We will be positing pictures the next few weeks of the pups.

We would like to introduce Guard Rail Shadow. Jack is a son of Guard Rail Hawk (son of Guard Rail & Nells Native Shadow) and Rail Hawk Jill (daughter of Guard Rail Spirit and a daughter of Blackhawk). Outstanding Guard Rail line breeding. It's always a pleasure to watch one of our pups develop into a super wild bird dog. He is finishing up with Matt's started dog program and has done great. He travels nice, great on his birds and show a long distance nose. His final test will begin in October in SD and then on to Iowa, Nebraska and Kansas. We believe the real test is wild bird hunting for a season. If he makes the gun dog that we think he will be then we will find out if he is a producer.

Happy Fourth of July. So thankful we live in a country where we can enjoy things like good bird dogs. A special thanks to all of those that have made this freedom possible. We are excited to announce this repeat breeding of Doc and Macey. Doc is son of CH Rock Acre Blackhawk and River Ranch Salena. Doc spent last season on a guide string in South Texas and did a fantastic job. Macey is a known daughter of Continental CH Erin's Red Rum. Macey is one of our best wild bird dogs and has showed to have an outstanding nose. Last time we bred these two individuals they produced pups that were stylish bird dogs. They were early starters, showed tons of natural ability, great conformation, superior noses and manners on their game. We kept several of these pups and trained them as part of our started dog program and they were excellent. Pups from this cross have proven themselves to be outstanding wild bird dogs from the prairies of South Dakota down to the rough country of Texas. **ALL PUPS HAVE BEEN PLACED THANKS**

We are excited to announce the breeding of these two outstanding individuals. Simmons Black Dog, a champion son of Rock Acre Blackhawk, has proven himself to be an outstanding bird finder and a producer of pups who are showing the same traits. Black has proven himself as a superior guide and wild bird dog. Pearl is a combination of Rebel/Erin's Red Rum breeding who just finished up our started dog program and her first season of wild bird hunting. Pearl is one of those dogs that just seemed to do everything right. She was blessed with such natural ability that she was pointing and holding birds and could have been hunted at an extremely young age. She has exceptional confirmation, looks good traveling, style on point, nose and brains to find birds. The traits of these two individuals check all the boxes and should combine to make outstanding bird dogs.

We would like to introduce Blackhawk's Elhew Chief. Chief is a son of Simmons Black Dog which is a son of Blackhawk and Simmons Sydney which is a Sinbad/Black Ice bred female. Chief shows all the potential to become a super guide dog for Simmons Kennels but also an outstanding wild bird dog for our kennel. He has a superior nose, looks great traveling, all natural point, back and retrieve. We would like to thank Jerry Simmons for training Chief and allowing us to purchase him and make this great addition to our hunting string. Looking forward to next season.

We would like to introduce our latest addition to our hunting team. Sam is a grandson of HOF Rock Acre Blackhawk and future HOF Just Irresistible. We just got back from a hunting trip in North Dakota and he put on a show finding birds. We looking forward to using Sam with our females with high hopes of him passing on his hunting traits. He is one of our puppies and I would like to thank Phil Williams for allowing us to get him back to Kansas. Phil did a great job of training him. Thanks

Pearl looked good in her workout today. She is another nice year old female that made it through our started dog program this past summer. She is sired by Erin's Grey Justice by a daughter of Erin's Red Rum. I believe she is ready for wild birds

Super proud of how Scout has turned out. He was whelped here at Harris Kennels and just finished our started dog program. Scout is a Rebel Heir and H***ytonk Attitude cross who just turned a year old. He has a super nose with great intensity and is classy and snappy on the ground. He has shown great potential but now on to wild birds for the real test. Excited about heading to South Dakota next week.

Another future hunting buddy of ours. Jack is out of Guard Rail Hawk and Rail Hawk Jill. He just turned 12 weeks old and this was his first bird. Scent pointed it and never took a step. He will be fun to work and watch him grow into a superior hunting dog!!!!
