Top 5 Superfoods!
When we feed our pets we only want the best, right? Sometimes the best part about feeding our pets is that we can introduce new and exciting things to their normal diet! One of these exciting things are superfoods, but what are they you might ask?
Superfoods are nutrient-rich foods that are packed full of vitamins, minerals, fiber, antioxidants, or omega-3 fatty acids. They also boost energy and help maintain good health. I guarantee you already have most of these foods in your house! Here are the TOP 5 superfoods that I think are great for our fur-babies!
Fish Oils are the gold standard in superfoods if you ask me! Fish oils are known for working from the inside out. They keep you pets skin and coat in pristine condition and aid in shed control. They are heart healthy and can also aid in allergy and joint pain.
Sweet Potatoes are rich in beta-carotenes, dietary fibers, Vitamin B6, C and A and provide double the amount of antioxidants than blueberries do.
Carrots are rich in biotin, dietary fibers, potassium, beta-carotenes, and are packed with tons of vitamins (A, K, B6 and C).
Kale is a leafy green jam packed with vitamin A, E, K and C. It is also known for its anti-inflammatory properties as well as detoxifying the liver.
Pumpkin is low in calories but high in fiber. They help maintain a healthy digestive tract and are high in carotenoids, potassium and vitamin C. They are also great to feed if your pet has a loose stool.
All of these superfoods can be fed to your pet everyday. In fact it is encouraged! A lot of pet foods do not include all the essential vitamins and dietary needs a pet should really have. If you notice you're having trouble getting your fur-baby to eat these fruits and veggies check out our PawPairings. They are pet food seasonings made from freeze dried superfoods that you just sprinkle on top of their existing diet.
