I finally got around to brushing out all three border collies and holy moly what a mess of hair! Every spring/usually it’s summer by the time I get to it) border collies need their winter undercoat of down brushed out so they can chill for the summer in their thinner overcoat of hair. If you don’t do it every year, they will get mats in the undercoat and that’s unhealthy for their skin and impossible to brush out. I think I missed brushing Sugar last year because she had sooo many mats😩 I had to cut off her overcoat to be able to get to the mats in the undercoat. But now she’s all brushed and fluffed and her new overcoat can grow in healthier.
