Pablo is an eight month old poodle mix who weighs in at a whopping 6 pounds! He came to see the Trek Veterinary Surgery team last month after jumping off the couch and fracturing his left radius and ulna. Dr. Moorer was able to reduce and repair the fracture and Pablo is now well on his way to a full recovery, hopefully leaving his dare devil antics behind him! 🥳💪

Meet Jack Daniels aka sassy boy Jack 😛 👅
This handsome 10 year old border collie presented for surgery with the Trek team after sustaining a tear in both his left cranial cruciate ligament and medial meniscus. Just one week out from TPLO surgery and he is back to his sassy self and eager to continue his recovery with our in-home rehabilitation team.

Did you know that pursuing rehabilitation following TPLO surgery provides significant benefits including:
-faster recovery time
-reduced pain
-improved range of motion in the knee joint
-strengthened muscles around the knee
-enhanced stability

These benefits aid in a quicker return to normal activity levels, ultimately improving your pet's quality of life after surgery!

Jersey is a three-peat customer of the Trek Veterinary Surgery team! She had a left TPLO in 2021 and a right TPLO in 2023, and a bilateral plate explant just a few days ago.
While majority of TPLO patients will never need to have their plate and screws removed, less than 5% of cases do require an explant, most commonly due to local bacterial infection which may occur shortly after surgery or even years down the road. Removal of the hardware does not affect the limb correction made by the initial TPLO surgery and after a brief recovery period Jersey will be back to her favorite activities: hikes, squirrel chasing and naps in the sun!🌞

🐾 Patient of the Week: Max 🐾

Meet Max, our incredible patient of the week! Max is a resilient tripod who underwent TPLO surgery with us at . 🦴✨ Before being adopted by his loving family, Max lost his other hind limb due to barbed wire entanglement—a tough start that he’s overcome with remarkable strength.

Recovering from TPLO surgery is challenging for any pet, but for a tripod, it’s even more demanding. With just one hind limb, Max is relying on extra support to regain his mobility. His dedicated family is using a Help 'Em Up harness to assist him as he navigates the first few weeks of recovery, focusing on balance and building strength.

Wishing Max all the best in his recovery!

Meet Mochi! This adventurous Miniature Australian Shepherd visited the Trek team after suspected frostbite caused lameness and irritation in his left thoracic limb. To help him feel better, we performed a partial digit amputation.

In true Aussie spirit, Mochi was ready to be back to his wild self just one day after surgery! For now, though, he's sticking to activity restriction while his surgical site heals. Sending lots of love to this resilient little pup!
