Hey guys! It’s going to be getting really cold soon and will last about a week. That being said… if you don’t want to be out in the cold but your horses need trimmed or shod before then please let me know! Keep in mind though that if you can’t schedule before the colder temps, I will still be able to come during the cold front as long as we don’t get any ice. Stay warm everyone!

Please keep this in mind when searching for a new farrier. This year there have been a few very busy farriers who’ve retired leaving their schedules to others who already have plenty of clients. If you call a new farrier and they can’t get you in for a week to a month please be patient and not rude. We are working as hard as we can and trying our best to be efficient with our time. Our main focus is giving the absolute best care and quality work we can to your horses while also managing our business and schedules. I know as an owner it can be frustrating but that being said if you know your farrier is going to be retiring or can no longer service your area please search long before your horses are due. Scheduling in advance helps not only you but us farriers as well. Thanks!!

Beautiful little client and his big brother. These two are so kind and the mini sure loved some hugs during his trim!

I was able to help this sore donkey this morning by popping and cleaning out one big abscess and finished with a trim. This picture is before the trim.

Here in Central, OK we have received a lot of rain which can cause bacteria to get up in the foot causing abscesses. Abscesses are extremely painful for our four legged friends. Here are some things you can do if you discover an abscess on your donkey or horses foot:

- Call your farrier. Most farriers know and are willing to come clean abscesses out for you and get your animal back on track
- Make a paste with sugar and iodine: this mixture helps draw out the bacteria and sterilize the area. After putting the paste on your horse or donkey’s foot be sure to wrap the foot and keep it clean for 4-5 days.
- They won’t keep wrap on or won’t let you wrap their foot? No problem. Get a warm bucket of water and epsom salt making a soak. Soak the foot in the salt water for 10 minutes every day for 5-7 days. The salt water helps with inflammation and draw out the abscess.

It is hot and dry here in Oklahoma! Make sure those horses are able to soak their feet in a pond or muddy place to keep from chipping. Another great solution is getting a conditioner to put on your horses feet to lock in moisture.

CLIENTS: I have had an issue with virtual payments being made on time. Therefore, if you are present for trims or shoes then I ask that you pay on scheduled date. If you are not present for our appointment payment must still be made on date of scheduled appointment. Failure to pay on time will now result in a $5/day late fee. I appreciate all of my clients and thank you for your cooperation.

This mare has some such a long way!! We started with bar shoes to help her cracks grow out and after 3 months with shoes we transitioned to barefoot trims and now, a year later those cracks are almost grown out and looking so so much better.

To all of our clients waiting for training:
Due to an unforeseen injury we have decided to stop taking outside horses until beginning of next year (January 2023). I am very sorry for those who have been asking to get their horses in with us. I know that this is an inconvenience to those wanting their horses worked with but as of right now I can not take on more horses due to injuring my hip. If anybody needs recommendations to trainers Please feel free to contact us and we can help find one!
I will continue to trim and shoe as much as possible so feel free to give us a call or message regarding schedules for farrier services.
Thank you♥️
