Hello,
This is Monster. He is a rescue found as a puppy about 3 months old, wandering the streets of Pflugerville, Texas in 2019 while I was working as an animal control officer. I named him Knucklehead at the shelter because he was such a clown in his kennel, but after I got him home I found out that with his 8 new canine friends he is a monster. No fear and needs to be the boss dog. Still a clown but mostly monster. Hence the name Monster. He only spent a couple of weeks in the shelter as a puppy waiting for his family to come for him. But no one came. He may have been dumped as the runt of the litter or defective and unsellable. He's definitely special. He spends his days pestering 5 Pitbull terrier mixes, a hound and a 17 year old blind Chi-Weenie. And slobbering everywhere. He also likes relaxing in the community water bucket after a roll in the mud and sitting in laps getting scratches.
I've never had a Frenchie before. Always Pitbulls. This guy just stole my heart as a little goof and I had to bring him home to the pack. I'm glad he was welcomed and accepted by everyone. 4 years later he is an integral part of the pack. It was rough at first but I'm glad he came home with me.

Update on Charles!

The staff at the Pflugerville Animal Shelter has being using a sling to help Charles get around and something amazing has happened. Charles began using one of his back legs last week, as well as moving the other. We were concerned he might be wheelchair bound but now we are hopeful for a full recovery.

Like most recoveries, there is a lot of hard work and determination that needs to take place. The amazing shelter volunteers have committed to giving Charles hydro-therapy two times a week and physical therapy 3x a day.

Friends of the Pflugerville Animal Shelter has purchased a No Knuckling Training Sock and a Walking Bo**ie Splint. Both of these will help him while he is not in his therapy sessions and we will continue to supply Charles with whatever he needs to get better.

Thank you everyone who has donated, shared, and volunteered to help this gentle guy. Its because of you that we are able to help homeless shelter pets like Charles!
