I feel bad I haven’t posted as much as I normally do. Not only for su***de prevention month, but in general. Honestly, I’ve had a lot going on.

Between my personal life, professional life, both my dogs being hospitalized, coming up on the 2nd anniversary of losing my dog and occasionally the mental strain owning/running a social media based nonprofit I’ve been just trying to make it. I know sometimes it doesn’t seem like it, but I struggle.

I’m horrible at following my own advice. “Take better care of yourself,” “put yourself first,” blah blah blah…easier said than done. It’s okay if you literally just brushed your teeth, breathed oxygen or opened your eyes. Your worth isn’t defined by your productivity 🤍

How is everyone's summer? Good? HOT?! Exactly.
Be mindful of those temperatures outside. Pets can get heatstroke and heat exhaustion just like us. They also can burn their paw pads like we can burn skin.
Pop quiz:
Which breed(s) are most sensitive to higher humidities and temperatures?
a. Brachycephalic breeds(pugs, boxers, bulldogs)
b. Borzoi breeds( long snout breeds like wolfhounds)
c. one breed is not more sensitive than another

Dogs are notoriously bad at dissipating body heat. Watch for early signs of heatstroke (also known as hyperthermia) in your dog to avoid serious outcomes.
