In honor of Pitbull Awareness Month & National Black Dog Day I present to you a lovely picture of Rachel's family's personal soul pup Tag. Tag was adopted from Fresno Bully Rescue in April of 2014. He was an estimate of age 1.5 years. There were no slow intros needed with him and big sister Bella, an American Bulldog. They were besties from the start.
Tag loved playing ball. And would bring it back for you to throw it over and over again. His precious bones he'd take into the backyard and dig a hole to bury them. In his senior years he'd have lots of s***k in the mornings and while holding a bone in his mouth would swing his head side to side. Bouncing around a bit, before finding a soft spot to lay.
He enjoyed playing out in the sun. And romping around the grassy park. Rolling around on that soft grass.
He has the softest paws, and silkiest coat.
Tag was The BEST babysitter / nanny dog. He was a warm sleeping buddy for sleeping babies. And a best friend for little girls.
Tag passed away at home suddenly and rather unexpectedly on Sept 27, 2024. Though he had slowed down that month and we knew it was ahead, we weren't expecting it. And we definitely weren't ready to say Goodbye.
We miss his quiet presence. His warm body. His soulful eyes.
To honor him we think fondly on the wonderful memories we've had with him for over 10 years. And we provide a voice for all the bullies breeds in this world who deserve understanding and most of all love. We all deserve that. Lastly, black dogs are often overlooked in shelters. I'm here to tell you that no good dog comes in a bad color. Save a life. Foster or Adopt. And you may just find that soul pup, like we found in Tagger Man, that we didn't know our lives were missing.
We miss you dearly sweet boy. Thank you for always being there for us and the family we created. 💝
