Colorado Feline Foster Rescue CFFR is an all volunteer foster-based 501c3 whose mission is to find homes for kittens & cats in need
(22)

We believe that providing loving home environments and individualized personal care for our cats and kittens in foster homes, helps ensure a healthier, more natural and far less stressful experience for our animals than having them in traditional shelter environments. Since many of our fosters are now staying home to work, they are able to spend the time and energy needed to properly socialize and

tend to the specific needs of the cats and kittens in their care to best prepare them for their forever homes.

Fours years ago adopter Tiffanni lost her two beloved cats Meg and Jack (photo #1). She came to us to inquire to adopt two of our kittens in foster care. A few hours later she got a phone call from us “Hi, this is Meg from CFFR!”. Tiffanni knew this was a sign that she should adopt THESE kittens ❤️. Photo number two shows Tandy and Roux all grown up now and happy in their forever home.

Thank you Tiffanni for sharing this beautiful CFFR adoption story with us!

Adult cats deserve great homes too!

Meet sweet Briella Park. Briella has been in foster care with us for 52 days! While we love having her, we would love even more for her to find her forever home soon. While Briella can be shy at first, she warms up to patient humans and will circle around you asking for pets before you know it! Briella also loves to chase her stick toy and to teach her humans proper hunting techniques.

Interested in adopting Briella? Fill out an adoption application on our website today!

🐾 **Meet Bagheera B. James, Cat of the Month!** 🐾

Hey there, I'm Bagheera, your very own mini black panther. I might seem a little shy at first, but don’t let that fool you—once I warm up, I'm the most loving cuddle bug you could ask for! 🖤

Born in April 2022, I’ve been on quite the journey in my foster home. With lots of patience and love, I’ve blossomed into a sweet, affectionate kitty. I’m definitely a lap cat, and nothing makes me happier than curling up with my human for some head scratches. I even chase down your hand if you stop petting me—what can I say, I’m a girl who knows what she wants!

Sure, sudden movements might startle me, but I recover quickly and come right back for more love. I’m also getting braver around new people. If I like your vibe, I might even let you give me a little pet!

I’m looking for a patient, loving human who understands that building trust takes time. But believe me, the reward is totally worth it—I’ll be your most loyal, loving companion. A calm environment where I’m the center of attention would be purrfect, and I might even enjoy the company of another mellow cat or dog.

Think we could be a match? Come meet me and see for yourself! 😻

Some happy news to report!

Many of you will remember (and have kindly checked in for updates) the 2 kittens that were stolen with the car a month ago. This past weekend, a TNR volunteer from another organization who was trapping cats in the area of Tremont Pl & 14th St, caught one of our missing kittens in her trap and took her to DDFL where she was scanned and ideintified as a CFFR kitty. We picked her up that day, and she saw our Vet Monday morning.

She came in severely underweight with a broken femur and a degloved front right paw, but alive. She unerwent surgery to pin her leg and has a long recovery ahead of her. But she has a remarkably good attitude, reminding us how incredibly resilient these creatures are.

Keep good thoughts for her! 😍

Happy Caturday!! We still have tons of available kittens but today we're featuring some gorgeous available adult cats!

Here are some reasons why you might choose to adopt an adult cat:
An older cat has already developed their personality – no surprises there! What you adopt, is what you get.
Adult cats are fun and playful but not as wild or hyperactive as kittens. An older cat will be less demanding of your time
Kittens are not a great match for young children. Both kittens and young kids can play rough without meaning to.
Kittens will get lonely (and potentially destructive) when left alone for longer periods of time. Something to consider if you work outside the home.
Many adult cats are happy to be an “only cat”. If you’re looking for only one, adults are the way to go. If calm and quiet are your thing, an adult cat is the way to go for a less active home environment.
Older cats have better litter box habits than kittens, who may use the litter box for many activities besides the intended purpose! Yikes!
Lastly, consider your own age – what would become of the cat when you’re no longer able to care for it? While many people think their families would take their animals, this is one of the biggest reasons animals are relinquished to shelters to face uncertain and confusing futures.

500,000 pets are affected by home fires every year with 1,000 house accidentally started by pets themselves. Today on National Pet Fire Safety Day we are sharing some tips to help you keep these valued members of your family safe.

PREVENT YOUR PET FROM STARTING A FIRE
Supervise Open Flames
Candles, fireplaces, and stovetops are among the most common sources of home fires. Pets may knock over a candle or pan on the stove. If you leave home, make sure to extinguish all flames.

Fire-Proof Your Home
Cats often chew on loose wires, which poses a fire hazard to your pet. Hide all wires and secure lamps, which can be knocked over by a climbing cat. Attach covers on stove k***s so they can’t be turned on by your cat.

MAKE A FIRE-PREPAREDNESS PLAN
Install Smoke Detectors
It’s also important to check smoke detectors regularly to ensure they’re in good working order.

Create a Pet Alert Window Sticker
On a piece of static cling or sticker, write down the number of pets you have (as well as your phone number) and affix it to a window on the front of the house. In the event you’re not home when a fire breaks out, this critical information helps firefighters save time when locating your pets.

Keep Pets Near Entrances
When you’re not home, keep your pets confined to a space that is near an entry/exit point, which will greatly increase the chances of them being rescued. Keep their carriers near the door—if you’re home when a fire breaks out, you will be able to get them out safely. Rescuers may also be able to grab the carriers and use them to help keep your pets from running away once outside.

Create a Plan and Practice It
Identify exit points for every room of the house. Make sure all members of the household have practiced safely evacuating your pet. Plan a rendezvous point in case of separation.

Microchip Your Pet
In case your panicked animal runs away from your home, rescuers, or you during the chaos of a fire, chances of having them returned to you are greatly increased if your pet is microchipped.
