This week is National Animal Shelter and Rescue Appreciation week! We'd like to take the opportunity to recognize the contributions of all the individuals who make up our all volunteer rescue. To our foster families, volunteers, donors, adopters, medical team and partners, we could not do this without you. Thank you!

🎉 92 Adoptions in October!
Thanks to our incredible community, 92 cats and kittens found their forever homes last month! Each adoption means a new beginning for our furry friends, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

But our mission continues! We still have 1️⃣2️⃣3️⃣ wonderful cats in foster care, each waiting patiently for their chance at a forever family. Could your home be the next safe haven for a rescue kitty? 🐾

Our November cat of the month is Dusty! Dusty is an extremely affectionate orange tabby boy who will follow you around the house just to keep you company. He loves cuddling on your lap or on your chest getting casual pets! Other favorite pastimes of Dusty's include: birdwatching, smelling the fresh air out the window, playing and receiving belly rubs! He loves to sleep next to his humans through the night and lay on the softest of blankets, as he deserves!

It's spooky season, so we're sharing 3 scary shelter animal facts.

1. Animal shelters in US are frequently overcrowded which leads to increased stress and illness in their residents.
2. 30% of animals in shelters were once family pets surrendered by their owners.
3. Still today hundreds of thousands of cats are euthanized in shelters due to lack of resources.

Here at CFFR we take pride in taking in cats that would otherwise be euthanized due to space constraints, or die without proper medical care. To continue to support us in this mission and provide better outcomes for cats in need please, apply to foster or consider donating today!
